Zaheer Khan and Sagarika Ghatge will not have a grand wedding. Here's why!

The handsome couple is all set to say "I do" on November 27, but it will not be as grand as you may have imagined.

In April this year, cricketer Zaheer Khan and Chak De India! actor Sagarika Ghatge announced their engagement on social media. They also revealed that they were planning to get hitched on November 27 this year.

And with speculation of two grand wedding ceremonies, one in Mumbai and the other in Pune, theirs was looked as the next big event. However, as it turns out the couple have decided to ditch a grand scale celebration and keep it simple.

Yes, you read that right.

"It will be a court marriage on November 27"

Rubbishing rumours that they were opting for a Nikaah as well as a Hindu ceremony Khan clarified, "We are going to stay away from both. It will be a court marriage on November 27 in Mumbai. There will be a pre and post wedding functions. I am planning to have something in Pune as well, so the ceremony will go on for a few days. We want this to be a get-together for close friends and family."

Soon after these celebrations, the couple will take their party to Kolhapur as well. "We are also planning to have something in my hometown Kolhapur, sometime later," added Ghatge.

"It's about marrying the right person over marrying into the same religion"

As for support from their families, Khan shared that the two did not face any problems.

"We didn't face any such issues. Both our families are evolved enough to understand that it's about marrying the right person over marrying into the same religion. It's important to be a good human being," shared the dashing cricketer.

Marriage prep is upbeat for Zaheer and stressful for Sagarika!

As for Sagarika's family she added, "My parents are also openminded and their primary concern was that I marry the right person. I am sure they may have had their apprehensions, but after meeting him, it cleared a lot of things for them. He is perfect."

With just a few weeks left, preparations for their wedding are now in full swing. Khan added that while for him the prep will not be too stressful since he is quite easy going, it may not be the case for his to-be-bride.

"It's upbeat for me, stressful for Sagarika (smiles). She is the worrier, because she is more responsible as far as the timelines are concerned. With me, things go haywire," shared Khan.

Well, it may be a simple court marriage, but the couple will certainly not disappoint with their pre and post wedding functions. We wish them both well.
