Wow! Fashionable Aishwarya Rai Bachchan proved why nobody should underestimate the power of a mum!
"I am the mother that I want to be and I keep saying this," said the glamourous and fashionable mum Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who is back on the scene and how!
Every year, the biggest names of Bollywood come together to attend the Filmfare Glamour & Style Awards, which allows them to experiment with sartorial choices and showcase their fashionable side.
This year was no different.
From the newly-married Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover to mum Kajol and the legendary Rekha, everybody scorched the red carpet. But if there was one person who mesmerised everybody with her grace and beauty, it was mum Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Donning a La Bourjoisie black beaded gown with Jaipur Jewels, the 42-year-old Bachchan bahu channeled her inner royalty and looked every bit the part.
In fact, the Jazbaa star was even given the Most Glamorous Star (Female) award at the do, by none other than the Indian film industry's diva Rekha herself! While giving the mum of four-year-old the prestigious award, Rekha even joked about her ageless beauty.
"She (Aishwarya's mother) kept seeing my photos when she was pregnant and this is the result," she reportedly joked.
Funny or not, there is no doubt that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who is raising her daughter in the public eye often faces the ire of the fashion critics. But it seems that off late she has managed to get her groove back and is throwing odd ball critics out of the part with her sartorial and glamorous choices.
This is also a reflection of how she is seriously getting back into work full-time, now that her daughter is a bit older.
"I am the mother that I want to be and I keep saying this — being a working mother is immensely challenging because any parent, especially those who have to go to work early in the morning, cannot see their kids for hours. It’s not easy," she shared in an interview to DNA.
She also added that while she didn't want to leave Aaradhya alone while she went on sets, she made the effort to make her childhood as normal as possible.
"Nobody wants to leave their kid and go work. I do admit that if the nature of my job allows for me to be able to have my child along, not feel the lack of my presence, then I am going to make the effort to accomplish that and at the same time, give her a very normal childhood and be a very normal mother to her daughter," she added.

She also revealed that she slowly introduced the concept of the nature of her work to her daughter and now Aaradhya is somewhat familiar with the medium and understand her mum's work.
"I do refer to my filming locations as an office because I want Aaradhya to understand that I am a working mother who goes to office because that’s what it should be. ‘Shooting’ is a very strange term to her. Honestly, though, I never thought about it before marriage. Now I think it’s a really weird term. I’ve become conscious of the words I use around her, how she would interpret them. Like a shot is being taken, but why would you say that to a kid and so on. She is familiar with the visual medium but I have never allowed her to get hooked on to it," she says.
No wonder then, now working mum Aishwarya is also more comfortable in getting back to her superbly glamourous self! In case you missed these glamour moments, here are three looks that will take your breath away! And we bet all mums can replicate.
With this effortlessly chic outfit, Aishwarya proved that working mums also need a time out with their hubbies and what better way to kick back and relax than a comfortable denim on denim combo!
Yummy-mummy Aishwarya was recently seen donning this absolutely gorgeous traditional outfit for a Delhi event and might we say, she looks like a breath of fresh air. If she can do it, all mums can.
There was nothing we didn't love about this outfit. She looked absolutely glamorous and with hubby Abhishek by her side, one could notice a really big smile. Relationship goals, working-mum goals and glamour goals, all rolled into one.
Way to go mummy Aish! More power to you!
