What we must teach our daughters, thanks to Sushmita Sen
- To believe in yourself: For Sushmita Sen this seems to be the most important quality. She even shares that the secret of her confidence is that she believes she is a confident woman. "I believe...I become. Like everything else, it's a practice. For me that's two decades and counting."
- To be fearless: Sushmita isn't afraid to take challenges head on and it is something that she so vocally advocates as well. Answering a fan's query about fear she shared, "Fear visits me on and off. But it knows it's not welcome to stay!" This is certainly an important quality we must teach our daughters.
- To be independent: The word independent has different meanings for different people. It may not necessarily mean the ability to do as one pleases. It may sometimes mean to have the freedom to feel complete in one's existence and not depend on others. As Sushmita herself says, "We are all already complete. Nothing outside completes us."
Needless to say we need more fearless icons like Sushmita Sen!
