5 things that you can do in Rs 15 lakhs in India

While 15 lakhs is a small amount for Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, for aam aadmi’s like us it could mean years of savings. Here are five things that you can do in Rs 15 lakh in India right now:

1.Buy a luxury car or an SUV: Yup, 15 lakhs is all you need to buy a sports utility vehicle like Mahindra Scorpio or a Toyota Innova. If you’re not into SUVs, you can buy a swanky luxury car such as the Volkswagen Vento. That sounds like a dream, right?

2. Go on 4 exotic International holidays: A couple trip to an exotic holiday destination such as Rome costs anywhere between Rs2.5 lakh to 3.5 lakh Indian rupees. This means that you can go on four International trips like these in 15 lakh rupees. Yeah, I know what you’re thinking right now.

3. Pay the fee for an MBA: The annual fee of prestigious MBA institutes such as IIM Indore and IIM Lucknow also happens to be 15 lakhs.

4. Invest it and reap the benefits for life: Yes, that’s right! Traditional Investment methods like Savings account, Bank Fixed Deposits, and Public Provident Fund will give you an annual interest of 6–8%.

Authentic gold jewellery would contain the hallmark number signifying the carat of gold that has been used to make it.

If you’re a gold lover, you can go for heavy gold jewellery or invest in gold in other ways such as buying Gold Bullion & coins, Gold ETFs, Gold Mutual Funds.

Another good option is to invest in mutual funds where again you can get around 10 to 15% returns.

5. Buy a small piece of land in a small Indian town: Buying a piece of land might be a dream in an expensive city like Mumbai, but if you opt for smaller cities such as the beautiful Dehradun city a 1548 sq feet area plot would cost around Rs 15 lakhs. Ironically, Dehradun is also the native place of Anushka Sharma.
