Diwali is one of the most beautiful of the Indian festivals since it is full of colours and lights. However, besides all those sweets and fervor, there one important aspect to take care of while celebrating the festival.

The north-east corner of the house is the most accurate and ideal corner for worshiping. However, if this is not possible for you, then you can also move to the eastern corner of your house.

The worship place or the temple should not have black colour around it. Always use a clean cloth to clean the temple or the idols. This cloth shouldn't be used for any other purpose. While worshiping, do not wear black or dark coloured clothes.

Keep the idols correctly

Keep the idols correctly

The northern corner of your house is related to wealth. So, Lakshmi puja should be done in that direction. Besides, you shouldn't keep more than two idols of the same God in your temple. The idol of Lord Ganesha should be placed on the left side of Goddess Lakshmi, while Goddess Saraswati should be placed on the right side.

All these idols should be in the sitting position. Keep them in the north-east direction and a picture of water or kalash should be there in north or east side of the idols. These idols should not face each other.

Remove all the trash from your house before Diwali and make room for some new stuff. According to Vastu Shastra, your front door is connected to new opportunities and the gate should be kept open on that day so that the opportunities can come in.

Avoid to clutter behind the main door. Hall is the room where you are connected with the external world, therefore, it should always be kept clean. Do not keep old or useless stuff in this room.
