The much-in-love couple, Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover tied the knot in 2016 and it’s only natural for fans and family to eagerly wait for the good news. However, it isn’t a rare occurrence these days that newlyweds postpone their plans to have a baby.

These days many women get married while in their thirties and have babies after the age of 30 or even 35. Here are some important points that you must not overlook if you are planning pregnancy after the age of 35.

Is it true that conception becomes difficult post 35 years of age?

Not every woman may face challenges to conceive after 35, however, the chances of various problems occurring during the pregnancy cannot be denied.

What can you do for a successful conception?

  • Consulting a specialist: Although you may not fall under the risky- pregnancy category, it is always advisable to discuss your case with medical experts. Going for routine medical check ups, taking important tests from time to time will all give you an insight into where your body stands as far as conceiving and carrying the pregnancy are concerned.
  • Adopting a healthy lifestyle: If you have an unhealthy lifestyle that includes smoking and drinking, try preparing yourself for conception. Follow a suitable diet plan. Also, stop smoking and drinking step by step so that your body doesn’t react to it negatively. If you are an excessive or heavy drinker or smoker, you must consult a specialist.
Practicing meditation: Try to calm your mind, as stressful conditions are not favourable for conception. You may choose to engage in any type of activity that makes you feel composed and peaceful.
  • Exercising regularly: Staying fit physically is also an important aspect of conception and pregnancy. Make time for jogging or hitting the gym or whatever else you might enjoy.
  • Bonding with your partner: Involve your partner in your daily activities and make time for him. Avoid stressful situations such as fights as it might create an emotional distance between you and him. Simple things such as eating a meal together or going for a walk are enough to strengthen the already solid bond that the two of you have.
