Trending: Rare footage of Queen Elizabeth playing with 1-year-old Prince Charles
Rare and adorable footage has surfaced of Queen Elizabeth II as a young mom playing with her 1-year-old son, Prince Charles
Way before the births of Prince George and Princess Charlotte, there was one royal baby who won the hearts of the world: their grandfather, Charles, Prince of Wales.
Back in 1949, the heir to the throne of England, was just a little tot learning to walk.
With the rare footage of this ‘toddler throwback’ released by Clarence House (the official residence of Charles, Prince of Wales, and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall), the public has been left swooning over how cute Charles was.
It starts of with a baby Charles excitedly trotting along as his mom, Queen Elizabeth II held up a tray of blocks in front of him.
The rare footage was released in celebration of Mother’s Day in the UK. “Today, we’re sharing this video of The Queen and The Prince of Wales having fun at home in 1949. Happy #MothersDay!”, says the tweet’s caption.

Entitled “Princes Charles at Home,” the video was produced by HRH the Princess Elizabeth.
Queen Elizabeth took the throne in 1952; three years after the clip was taken.
This gem of a home movie proves that even royal babies need tickling…
…and some good ol’ cuddling!
We hope there’s more where this came from!
