Watch: This is the easiest way to relieve your baby's gas (yes, really!)
If you notice any discomfort in your baby and he is often seen squirming and pulling up her legs, she might be having some gas which is refusing to pas
Babies are so small that almost anything can make them gassy or colicky. Babies eat around the clock, which is why they are passing bowel movements all the time. Also their gastric organs are still developing and that is the reason why they face a lot of stomach issues. However, a fussy baby is not necessarily an unhappy baby and if your baby eats well and passes stools often, he's just fine.
That said, if you notice any discomfort in your baby and he is often seen squirming and pulling up her legs, she might be having some gas which is refusing to pas. That does not mean that you take the baby to the doctor immediately as there are numerous ways in which you can relieve your baby's gas at home. Try the following most effective ones.
- Start by placing the baby on his back and gently massage his belly in clockwise motion. Be gentle as you do that as the last thing you want is a cranky baby.
- The second thing you can do is hold both her legs and move them in circles just as if she is riding a bicycle. This is called the bicycle massage and it works really well in treating baby gas and flatulence.
- You can also try a nice, warm bath to relieve the discomfort.
- If these tricks don't work and you're still left with a cranky baby, consult your baby's paediatrician to see if you can give him some gas drops.
