With minimalistic makeup, her signature red lip (glam credits Mickey Contractor) and a bespoke gown by the ace designer, Aishwarya proved why she is time and again identified as the epitome of elegance and timeless grace.

Juggling work and motherhood

As the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil star continues her experiments with classic flowy gowns, she proves that age is just a number and one must never underestimate a mother who knows how to juggle her work and life.

“Nobody wants to leave their kid and go work. I do admit that if the nature of my job allows for me to be able to have my child along, not feel the lack of my presence, then I am going to make the effort to accomplish that and at the same time, give her a very normal childhood and be a very normal mother to her daughter,” she has said in an interview.

But her sartorial choices have come a long way; from the bulky anarkalis she used to wear to the lovely gowns she has been sporting off late. However, if you thought it was just a whimsical decision, think again.

Aishwarya has the answer about why she chooses what she chooses, and trust us it will amaze you!

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's sartorial choices

Post the birth of Aaradhya, mum Aishwarya was mostly seen donning traditional wear, something she has revealed she loves. But now she seems to have given a modern twist to her wardrobe.

Has she become a more confident mum?

In an interview she mentioned, "I have been in this business for a long time and I kind of know what to do for every event... Sometimes I feel if you are judging someone, have a line-up of everybody who was dressed for the occasion, otherwise it isn't a fair analysis. For instance, you can't compare an Indian award function to Cannes."

As far as not losing her own identity is concerned she says, "Comfort, time, scheduling. I have many more aspects to my life now. You have just that much time to get yourself together. You don't have that much time to straighten every strand, curl every lash and get everything bang on. But everybody else around you is like that. I like to be human and not lose myself in becoming a mannequin, which people in showbiz are accused of."

The mum who was recently seen in an all-new bold avatar in her recent flick Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, is clearly making sure to get across the message that she is a confident and hard working mother, who is not afraid to experiment.

This is also something that most working mothers should work towards, especially when they have young impressionable kids in the house.

A confident mother can change the game for her kids

Today science has proved that intelligence and confidence are attributes that kids learn from their mothers. No wonder then, the best role model for any child should be his/her mother.

This new research is also a game changer for working mothers who may unknowingly pass on several values to their kids.

However, here are a few essential things that a confident mother helps her kids with.

  • Good communication skills: A confident mother can make sure that she imbibes good social and communication skills in her kids. She can teach her kids to come out of their comfort zones and develop a more sociable personality.
  • Pursue their interests: A confident mother can help her kids pursue their interests in life, whether it is vocation or academics, she can help them follow their dreams, just as she does hers.
  • Reality check: A confident mother can keep giving her kids a reality check and let them know that fairytales look nice in the books, but in reality everybody has to work to achieve their goals. One can always lead by example, just as mum Aishwarya does.
  • Encourage sporting activities: A confident mother can help her kids pursue sporting activities and teach them the importance and benefits of sports. This not only helps them in their social skills, but also helps them to develop a competitive streak and sportsman spirit.
