This is what Shilpa Shetty Kundra eats for breakfast

From eggs to upma to dalia, know what Shilpa Shetty likes to eat in her breakfast.

Even after having a baby, Shilpa Shetty Kundra has a figure to die for and that has not been an easy task for her. Like most new mothers, even Shilpa had gained 20-25 kilos during her pregnancy, but her dedication towards yoga and a balanced diet helped her lose it in three months straight.

Shilpa says that she really counts her calories and on days when she's not working out she watches what she eats.

“On days when I can’t go to the gym or workout, I watch every single morsel I eat. You have to learn to balance out your calories – because it is all about how much you intake and how much you burn. I am no different and I get cravings too but mostly I try to curb them by making my salad interesting – there are so many healthy ingredients available in the market to do that; you can prepare them at home too," she says.

What Shilpa Shetty eats for breakfast

Shilpa says that she has a very balanced meal plan and makes sure that she eats fresh all the time.

"I have a very balanced meal plan. I just eat depending on what I feel like on that day but I make sure it’s balanced. Like some days it’ll be porridge with almonds and a dash of milk with coconut sugar," she says.

 

Shilpa also makes sure to include a lot of seeds and fresh fruits in her breakfast. On days when she has an early breakfast, she has a mid-morning snack, which is mostly a fruit.

"Some days it’s a five-seeded toast with unsalted almond butter, with Chia seeds and bananas. Some days it’s upma and some days it’s just two eggs in any style. So, it really depends on my mood," she adds.

Shilpa also loves to eat porridge and muesli at some days.

"It also depends on what time of the day you wake up. My mornings start at 6am. So you tend to get slightly peckish around 10:30am. I have a porridge or a muesli at 7am and then a pre-lunch snack at 10:30am-11am and then I have my lunch at 12:30," adds Shilpa.

 

Shilpa also follows a very strict diet and there are many do's and don't's that she follows. Here are a few things she follows diligently:

  • Shilpa never eats raw food after 4 o' clock in the evening. "It is because raw vegetables and fruits are better eaten before evening, else your body struggles to break it down. After 4pm, I stick to cooked food only," says Shilpa.
  • Shilpa feels that ghee has unnecessarily become an evil and people should actually be consuming ghee every day. "I consume at least 1 to 1.5 tablespoon of ghee every day. As a matter of fact, I never eat my rice without ghee," she says.
  • Shilpa says that she only eats seasonal fruits and vegetables and avoids frozen foods.
  • Shilpa also replaces her whites with brown in my meals like rice, pasta or sugar.
