When you become a new parent, your baby understandably becomes the most important person in your life. You want to do everything in your power to keep your little bundle of joy happy and smiling. And celebrities are no exception.
Take for instance, new dad Shahid Kapoor. He can't get enough of his cute daughter Misha. In fact, he is always seen talking fondly about how much he loves his daddy duties and often shares adorable pictures of his baby girl.
And this time was no different.
Misha's pool time with daddy dearest
The doting dad shared the cutest picture of Misha enjoying some pool time with him. Along with the photograph, Kapoor wrote: "Pool time with missy. #besttimes."
The picture has naturally melted the hearts of fans who follow him on his social media handle and they can't stop gushing about Misha's cuteness. Well, if you ask us, she looks quite like her mum Mira Rajput.
But that can't take away from the fact that she seems extremely relaxed and comfortable with daddy too. This of course, has to do with the fact that Shahid is an extremely doting father and absolutely adores his little bundle of joy.
Shahid's urban parenting style
In a recent interaction, the first-time dad revealed that he is quite hands-on, thanks to his profession that allows him to be available to his daughter. He also shared that it was him who fed Misha her first solid food.
"I’ve spent a lot of time with Misha. I took a six-month paternity leave. I did it more for myself than her. I didn’t want to miss out on the experience. People cautioned me that it was not a good decision. That I’d be out of the limelight. But being an actor I’m a freelancer. I change her diapers, I give her bottle feeds. I fed her first solids," he shared.
The Rangoon star also added that he enjoys his funny conversations with Misha and that he is not necessarily forcing her to learn new words.
"I enjoy hanging with her when she moves in the walker. I like looking at her when she rolls around. In fact I mimic her funny sounds rather than teach her words. So that she feels we’re sharing a conversation," he shared proving that this young father is in no hurry to push milestones on his kid.
And this recent picture of Shahid Kapoor taking Misha for a swim is not only proof that he doesn't want to miss out on any milestones, but also that he knows what he is doing.
If you are also a first-time parent and planning to take your baby for a swim, here are a few things you need to bear in mind.
3 things to remember when taking your baby for a swim
- Start a bit early: While babies are natural swimmers, its best to take them out for a swim after they turn four months. That's because this is the time they are able to hold their heads stable and also they are able to use their natural reflexes to float.
- Keep a tab on his feed: Swimming can be an exhausting activity for the baby and so you should feed him half an hour before he goes out to swim. This will help him be in a good mood throughout the session.
- Check his diapers: Consult your doctor on the right gear for your baby including diapers and nappies. Ask your doctor if your baby can wear disposable diapers or any other fabrics that he can wear during his first swim.
