Scolded at a parent-teacher meeting, 12-year-old kills self in Delhi

According to a message retrieved by the police, the boy claimed that he was depressed

A 12-year-old boy allegedly committed suicide after being scolded by his parents during a parent-teacher meeting in front of his classmates and teachers, according to the police.

A resident of Northeast Delhi’s New Usmanpur, the boy refused to eat anything after coming home and even locked himself inside the bathroom. When the parents insisted him to come out and got no response, they broke open the door and found him hanging from a rod inside the bathroom.

“The boy’s parents told the police that they had attended a parent-teacher meeting along with him, where his teachers complained about his poor performance. They scolded him in front of his friends and teachers, upsetting him,” reports The Indian Express.

The police have recovered a mobile phone from the boy's room with a message which said that he was depressed.

The boy was immediately rushed to the hospital where he was declared brought dead. The police are now finding the exact reason for this extreme step.
