Sasumaa Sharmila Tagore spills the beans on Kareena Kapoor Khan's baby shower plans!Sasumaa Sharmila Tagore spills the beans on Kareena Kapoor Khan's baby shower plans!

She also revealed who all will be attending Kareena's baby shower.

While there were reports that Kareena Kapoor Khan does not want to have a baby shower, looks like her sasuma Sharmila Tagore wants to have one for her "glowing" daughter-in-law.

As any other dadi, Sharmila is totally excited for the baby and looking forward to holding him in his arms. Sharmila is also all praises for her daughter-in-law Kareena and says that she is glowing even more now that she is going to be a mother.

"Isn’t that lovely? I’m looking forward to that. She’s a lovely lovely person, she’s always glowing and now she’s especially glowing. There’s even more raunak on her face," she said to an online entertainment portal.

Sharmila also made it clear that Kareena does not want her baby shower to be a grand celebration and wants it to be only a close-knit affair.

"We are going to celebrate and have a lot of fun. But I am not sure whether Kareena wants a big celebration. She just wants it to be quiet and spend time with her family and friends," said Sharmila.

As stated by Mom-in-law Sharmila, Kareena's baby shower would only be attended by their close friends and family members.

“Karisma and Kareena’s friends, Amrita, Malaika, will come to cheer her up. But I don’t think it will be a big baby shower," said Sharmila Tagore.

Sharmila also said that she was completely appalled by all the rumours that said that Kareena's baby would be born abroad.

“We are not stupid that despite having a home in Mumbai, we would go to a foreign land for the birth. Rather we would want that the baby is born in the house itself,”she said.

Having a Godh Bharai/Baby shower

Godh Bharai ritual is different in different parts of the country. However, they focus on one aspect – celebrating motherhood and blessing the yet-to- be-born baby.

In a traditional godh bharai ceremony, the mum-to- be is anointed with special oils by the elderly women in the family. She is then dressed up in a special saree and adorned with flowers or garlands. A puja is performed before the festivities begin.

In the case of a baby shower inspired from the west, the friends or the mother-to- be organizes a get together with a baby theme and gifts are given for the baby and her! Whatever way you celebrate it, there are ways that you can make it an affair to remember. Here are some tips that might be useful.

  • Firstly and foremost, make sure that the the mom-to- be is well-rested for the hectic, yet fun, day that lies ahead.
  • Make sure the dress-code is set with the weather and the location in mind. If it’s a traditional ceremony, a saree or a comfortable lehenga would be best suited. For an informal baby shower with friends, you could pick a great evening gown or dress.
  • Take a trip down memory lane with the mom-to- be’s own childhood photographs and possessions. Guests could add to this by leaving letters for the baby or sweet notes for the mom.
