New dad Riteish Deshmukh has a very important message for all Indian parents!New dad Riteish Deshmukh has a very important message for all Indian parents!

At a recent event, Riteish Deshmukh revealed that he plans to let his sons make their own career and life choices, just as he did

It seems that celeb fathers are taking a leaf from their own lives and teaching their kids some very important life lessons. Whether it be Akshay Kumar who revealed that his kids won't inherit his wealth or Amitabh Bachchan who doesn't want his granddaughters to follow the conventional path.

It's quite evident that celeb fathers who are in the position of influence are treading the right path and teaching us a thing or two about parenting. And the latest to join the 'parenting done right' bandwagon is actor and new dad Riteish Deshmukh.

At a recent event, the doting dad revealed that he plans to let his sons make their own career choices as opposed to forcing them into something that he wants. This is definitely a very important message for all Indian parents!

Speaking at the launch of his new show titled Yaroon Ki Baraat, Deshmukh explained why he wants his sons Riaan and Rahyl to decide their own future.

Let them make their own choices

"It's totally upon them what they want to become in their lives. It's their choice. As parents, we should not decide what our children should become. I want my kids to decide their future," he said.

He also added that people expected him to join politics, just as his father Vilasrao Deshmukh, but he was given the freedom to choose his own path. And this also resulted in him marrying his co-star and becoming a dad to two sons.

"A lot of people have asked me this question that why I became an actor. They expected me to become like my father and join politics. Even my brother is into politics," he said

"I found doing films interesting, that's why I made my career in it. Thankfully the co-star with whom I worked in my first film Tujhe Meri Kasam, I am married to her today and have two kids," added the doting husband, who is married to actress Genelia D'Souza Deshmukh.

There was no pressure on me: Riteish

Deshmukh along with other celeb dads is taking his role as a new father very seriously and it seems that he is quite interested in giving his kids a chance to learn from their own mistakes.

But this understanding and connect has come after his close interaction with his two boys. He recently shared that it was difficult at first for him to connect with his new babies, but he soon picked up a ropes.

“When you get into parenthood you just think that this is how fathers are supposed to be, but then you realise that the mother’s connection with the child is instant and they connect and for three months you’re wondering – how do I connect with this child?,” he said.

Three golden rules of modern parenting

Deshmukh's modern outlook and parenting style can surely inspire new parents and we bet you can take a leaf from his golden rules and raise confident and happy kids yourself.
