Second month of Pregnancy: How are you shaping upSecond month of Pregnancy: How are you shaping up

The second month can be the first challenging phase. Sail through with ease by knowing what all is happening inside your body

The second month of pregnancy is a critical period for the baby in the womb. Besides, the pregnancy symptoms which might have been non-existential during the first month, will suddenly crop up, leaving you stressed.

Therefore, the only way you can keep up and shine is by understanding the changes you are going through and by adapting healthy lifestyle choices. So, if you love to drink, make sure you have already bid adieu to the clinking glasses. Be sure to include important nutrients such as protein, calcium, carbohydrates, fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet. Drink plenty of water and avoid beverages that contain caffeine. Make healthy choices for meals and snacks to be sure you are getting enough nutrition for your growing baby.

Some of the common changes that you might face during second month of pregnancy are:

  • Unable to sleep
  • Sweating
  • Feeling ill and tired all the time
  • Mood swings
  • Nausea
  • Food cravings or aversions
  • Dizziness
  • Frequent urination

As the second month of your pregnancy nears an end, baby's upper and lower limb buds begin to appear. The baby, now, measures from 8-11mm.
