Yelling and insulting your children publicly because of minor setbacks might stop them from making the same mistakes again but they will definitely have a hard time recovering from it emotionally.
Children will remember the time you've hurt them with words. Be careful of how you show authority – it might scar them for the rest of their lives.
Bringing up past mistakes that they've committed will make them feel as if they can never get anything right. It demoralises them into thinking the worse about themselves.
