Nurse allegedly flaps bedsheet while making bed, flings newborn to death

She was hurriedly making the bed and didn't notice the baby, tossing him nearly 3-4 feet in the air

In what can be termed as an act of acute negligence, a nurse allegedly flapped a bedsheet while making the bed at a hospital in Indore flinging a newborn to death, reports The Times Of India.

On Thursday, the baby boy was admitted in the Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit of the hospital following post-delivery complications. The mother was in the gynaecology section.

The report says the nurse, while making the bed, failed to notice the baby boy and flapped the bedsheet in a hurry. The newborn was tossed 3-4 feet in the air and suffered fatal injuries. The baby was immediately rushed for treatment, but was however declared dead on Friday morning.

"We were told the baby died after he suffered a fall from the bed,” the father of the baby is quoted as saying.
