We all remember that coy Suman from the 90s superhit Maine Pyaar Kiya (MPK). But, at the helm of her career, Suman aka Bhagyashree left her flourishing career to enjoy family life and embrace motherhood.
Today, after 27 years of MPK the gorgeous Bhagyashree looks as stunning ever, in fact, fitter that ever before. Mother to two adorable kids, Abhimanyu(27) and Avantika (22), the doting mum says that her children help her keep young as they keep her abreast with the changing technology.
theindusparent caught up with the beautiful actress in a tete-a-tete:
1. It's been 27 years after Maine Pyaar Kiya. How does it feel? Do you have any regrets?
Seems like yesterday because of the constant love and affection I have received and that I keep receiving. It's like I still have a place in people's hearts.

After a hit like that, I was floored by the offers pouring in and the euphoric response that I got was enough to imbalance anyone. However, I was given a choice, family or career and I chose for love. I wasn’t ready to allow anything become a bone of contention between my husband and me.
For me, it was all about the commitment of love. And if at any point of time my mind had questioned my decision, it was put to rest by the birth of my son, Abhimanyu, my world lay cradled in my arms.
I have enjoyed both my children’s growing up years to the fullest. Shared every fun moment. I went to all their classes, karate, swimming, dancing, piano lessons, took their tiffins to school, arranged the biggest and best birthday parties without any party planners, played board games throughout weekend afternoons, celebrated each and every festival teaching them all traditions while doing them.

All the normal routine things all mothers would do and more. They are everything to me. Today, when my children hold me close and say, “Mom, we are proud of you, for what you achieved and what you have given up to be with us.”, it makes everything worthwhile.
2. Your Instagram pictures are proof that age is nothing more than a number for you. How is it that you look so young and refreshing?
Well, nothing is possible without hard work, especially after 30. A "NO DIET" but eat right and well-focused exercise is important. My constant interaction with my children also keeps me young in the mind as they keep me abreast of the changing world outside be it technology, fashion, life's fundas!!
3. You've been making news off late due to your svelte figure. Can you share some fitness tips with our mothers?
The most important is being on the go, I sit only when I'm eating or when I have to write my blog (www.bhagyashreeonline.com), I am constantly on the move.

My blog covers most of the aspects of good nutrition and simple exercises that one can do at home. I also put up regular Insta and Youtube videos for all to follow. Having got into nutrition, I will soon start a help centre
4. Your son Abhimanyu is said to be making his Bollywood debut soon. What are some tips that you have for him as an actor?
Be open to learning all aspects of filmmaking, the more you know about the craft and the craftsmen, the more enjoyable the journey will be for you. Always make your journey interesting.
5. How did motherhood change you as a person? What are three things that you learned from your child bringing him up?
Motherhood made my entire world different, my journey different. I have enjoyed being a mother to the "T". We keep learning so much from children at every stage of our lives, they are the ones that keep you grounded, keep showing you that life is about fun and laughter, that we shouldn't take life so seriously. Life is about growing, learning and changing if we want to keep young. Honestly, they are my world.
6. Parenting can be a challenging task. What are some tips that you would like to share with new mothers, especially those who have sons?

Teach them that gender equality is not about being a feminist, it is about being a good human being. Value the women in your life. It's important to start giving them these values at an early age to make the world a better place.
