Pizza Parantha is one healthy and a creative option to kids who generally eat junk and avoid healthy food. It even sounds interesting and kids of this generation would surely love to try out something new. Let's go ahead with the ingredients and steps to make these paranthas:
- Whole wheat flour (aata): 2 cups
- Grated Mozzarella cheese at room temperature: 1 ¼ cups
- Chopped bell peppers: ½ cup
- Chopped onions: ½ cup
- Corn kernels at room temperature: ¼ cup
- Chopped olives: 8 - 10
- Italian seasoning
- Chilly flakes
- Pizza sauce, pesto sauce, cooking oil, salt and water
Step 1: Make your dough: First you must take the whole-wheat flour (2 cups), add half teaspoon of salt and mix water to bring it into a fine consistency; it must be in an appropriate ratio. The oil helps in smoothening this dough. Finally after this dough is made it must be covered and kept to rest for 15 minutes.
Step 2: Stuffing: The stuffing is the main component of this dish. You can even be creative with adding various vegetables to it. Mix the mozzarella, chopped bell peppers, chopped onions, corn kernels, chopped olives, salt and Italian seasoning together and your stuffing is ready!
Step 3: Let’s start making the Parathas! Take some dough that was prepared in the beginning, roll it and dip it in dry flour and use a rolling pin to make the base. Add some pizza sauce to the base, put the stuffing towards one side and spread it evenly leaving the edges. At the end take a fork and seal the edges properly. You can repeat the same process with the pesto sauce as well. (Remember to take a large consistency of the dough for the base to be thick)
Step 4: Cook them. In this step, we require a medium heat pan and a little oil. Gently place the parathas in the pan and fry them till they are cooked properly
Step 5: Ready to eat! They are ready to be served with ketchup or pizza sauce. These parathas can be packed into lunch boxes and kids will surely enjoy it!
