Actor Sanjay Dutt's wife Maanyata recently celebrated her 38th birthday with family and close friends.
And while it seemed like a quiet birthday celebration, it soon turned into a fun and lively party when she was given a surprise by her six-year-old son, Shahraan Dutt.
The young boy decided to break into a dance routine holding his mummy's hand and pleasantly surprising her. The proud mum also couldn't hold back her happiness and danced along.

She even gave her Instagram followers a sneak peek of what happened through a post which included that video. Needless to say, this video is now going viral, thanks to the endearing interaction between the mother and son.
The fit yummy mummy has clearly passed on her good dancer genes to her kids and the video is proof.
Along with the video she wrote: "The most amazing birthday dance with my son #love #grace #positivity #dutts #shahraandutt #birthday #bringinginbirthday #home #missinglove #shenanigans #aboutlastnight #motherandson #ayearolder #despacito #motherandson #unbreakablebond #beautifullife #godblessmychildren #thankyougod."
The Dutt family recently came back from their summer vacation just in time for Maanyata's birthday and she clearly received the best gift from her son.
But we are sure her husband must have also surprised her with something unique. He did gift her a Rolls Royce car in 2010, after all and absolutely dotes on her.
"She suffered more than me as she had to look after two kids"
In fact, in a recent interview Dutt admitted, "Whenever I was getting weak, she was my pillar of strength. I think she suffered more than me as she had to look after two kids, bring them up and take decisions. She is not my better half, but my best half. Maanyata is my strength,” he told the media.
The Munna Bhai actor who was serving jail time was released last year and expressed his excitement at being able to spend more time with his kids including his six-year-old twins and his daughter Trishala.
“I would like to spend time with my family and kids now,” he said at the time and kept his word.
"I wanted to break her legs"
Even his daughter Trishala shared that he often spoke to her post his release and shared his displeasure at her joining the film industry. He even went on to say that he wanted to "break her legs."
"I've invested a lot of time and energy to put her in a good college and she has done very well. She has specialised in forensic science... And I think that's a great thing to do," Dutt told PTI adding "Trishala wanted to be an actress and I wanted to break her legs."
Although he sounds like a strict disciplinarian father, it does reflect that he is over-protective towards his kids. But this may not really be the best parenting skill.
As parents it is our responsibility to let our kids decide their future for themselves and at the same time guide them in the right direction. Yelling or using force is not necessarily the best way to teach kids.
This also helps them to freely work on their talents, just as Shahraan did while showing off his dancing skills to his mum. So what can you do?
3 ways to discipline your child and help them blossom
- Communicate and share: Your child may not adhere to the 'rules' that you may set in your house, but that doesn't mean hitting them will make them respect these rules. It will only make them dislike you. So it's best to lay down the law by speaking them them calmly and asking them why they feel the rules are not right. Respect their opinion and come to a mutual solution.
- Keep them busy: A Hindi idiom states "Khaali dimaag shaitaan ka ghar," which means if you keep sitting idle all you'll think are negative and disruptive thoughts. So in order to keep your kids away from such thoughts, make sure to assign them chores and keep them busy. Let them take control of the situation and be responsible for an activity.
- Be calm: Whenever you feel your child is being unruly and out of control, just be calm and distance yourself from him. Instruct your child to stay away from you and ask him to not interact with anybody for sometime. This would be punishment enough for him to realise his mistake.
