Watch: Kids from underprivileged backgrounds pay a moving tribute to AR Rahman and Michael Jackson

To celebrate World Music Day a group of children from Chennai came together to form the Chennai Children’s Choir to celebrate the spirit of music.

While all of you know that June 21 was celebrated as International Yoga Day, how many of you know that it is also observed as World Music Day.

Music they say knows no language and background. To celebrate World Music Day a group of children from Chennai came together to form the Chennai Children’s Choir to celebrate the spirit of music.

What makes this choir special and different from ay other musical group out there is the fact that all the children in this choir come from underprivileged backgrounds and have seen a lot of hardships and exploitation.

Besides that, six of these kids are visually challenged and two of them have autism spectrum disorder.

These children belong to the Nalanda Way Foundation, an NGO that works with underprivileged children across the states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Bihar. In the video, the kids sing songs composed by AR Rahman, Ilayaraja and Michael Jackson.

The video starts with A R Rahman’s famous composition Yeh Taara Woh Taara from the film Swades and ends with Michael Jackson’s We Are The World. Watch it now to feel the magic!
