Here is a video every mum SHOULD watch!

What is the reason behind successful kids? Read on to find out!

Mums are our strength – there is no doubt about it! We turn to our mum when we are happy, when we are sad when we are scared, or when we just want to feel safe!

Yesterday, India celebrated Maatru Divas. On this occasion, let us take out time to thank our mums!

The story

This powerful piece of work by the USA-based agency, Wieden + Kennedy was done for P&G, in anticipation of the 2016 Rio Olympics. The story revolves around how athletes, irrespective of where they come from, derive their strength from their mothers. We even see an athlete who almost gives up, but his mum tells him that she believes in him.

And isn’t it true? Don’t we all turn to our mothers when we are not sure about ourselves? In the video, we see what happened with athletes when they were kids. They are scared, terrified even. However, all it takes to calm them down is their mother’s assurance. And as athletes, they derive the strength to perform under pressure from their pillars of strength – their mums!

Read on to know why we think strong mums are awesome!

Here are 7 reasons why strong mums raise successful children

1# They get things done

When strong mums decide something, they get it done. When your kids see you getting things done, they learn about an important trait that successful people have.

2# They never give up

We seldom see strong mums give up! I remember the time when my mum was struggling to get her English perfect! She was educated in a Marathi school, and never really had to use English to a great degree. But when it came to teaching my brother and me, she took extra efforts to re-learn the spellings.

Needless to say, she never gave up and now we are quite comfortable with the language.

3# They challenge themselves

We all have seen the ad where the mother gets up early in the morning and runs with her kid. Ultimately, the kid ends up winning a race!

The message here is that the kid learns better because she challenges herself as well as him.

4# They prioritise

Strong mums know what to do and what to avoid. They know what traits to show and what to hide. They shield their children from bad influences but nudge them in the right direction.

The art of prioritising is one of the most important traits that successful people have. Most of them derive it from their mums!

5# They push you

I wouldn’t be what I am now if my mum was a complacent person! Sports was not my strength, but books were! I performed decently in school, but my mum always told me that I could do better. Today, I can safely say that I would not be where I am right now if not for her!

6# They let you fall and learn

There are mums who wouldn’t let anything happen to you, and there are mums that would let you learn by allowing you to make mistakes. Most successful people swear that their mums were of the second type!

Jack Welch, the legendary ex- CEO of General Electric, attributes all his success to his mother’s tough love!

7# They are your safety net even when the world is not with you!

Well, they are not always that tough! You know you can always turn to your mum even if the world is against you. No one understands you better than her, and that is why you are yourself in front of her!

It takes someone strong to raise someone strong. Indeed, the hardest job in the world is the best job in the world!
