In the midst of horrifying news where kids have been killed or molested by others in school, colleges, and public spaces, another news has cropped up, this time marking the house as unsafe.
Mumbai father of 3 from Nalasopara, was arrested for drowning his 4-year old stepson for playing in the neighbour’s house. Vishal Jaiswal (25) had married a woman, who already had three kids from her previous marriage.

Police reports say that the father dragged the youngest son, Piyush (4), out of the neighbour’s house at 9:30 am and was beaten with a broom.
Later in a fit of rage, he took a bucket of water and forced Piyush’s head inside the water till he died.

Both the elder siblings aged six and nine witnessed this horrific incident and informed their mother when she came back from her daily work at a Vasai factory in Mumbai.
Though the kids were threatened and the body was kept in the room, Jaiswal’s lied that Piyush had fallen inside the bucket and drowned to death was not really believed.
Jaiswal, who works for a caterer in Nalasopara in Mumbai, finally confessed to the crime during interrogation. The couple had married two years ago, and Jaiswal was quite infamous in the society.
He apparently had a huge fight with their neighbours a week before and was not on talking terms with the family. Despite his warning to his kids to stay away from that house the youngest one sneaked out after their mother left for work. This didn’t go well with Jaiswal and he ended committing this grave crime.

The body has been sent for autopsy to ascertain the cause of death. Jaiswal has been booked under Indian Penal Code sections 302 (murder), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation). He has been remanded to five days’ police custody by Vasai sessions court in Mumbai.
