Mum Kajol doesn't want daughter Nysa to repeat the same mistakes she made in life

Mum Kajol doesn't want daughter Nysa to repeat the same mistakes she made in lifeMum Kajol doesn't want daughter Nysa to repeat the same mistakes she made in life

The doting mum may have strong opinions about going back to school but she doesn't want any child to repeat the mistakes she made in life

Just a few weeks ago it was revealed that Kajol and Ajay Devgan have finalised a Singapore-based school for their daughter Nysa.

In fact, to start the enrollement process and to get her settled, doting mum Kajol will fly down to the Lion City in July and finalise all the arrangements before Nysa's school begins.

And while the 42-year-old mum is making sure that her daughter gets the best of education, and is comfortable in her new school; the concept of going back to school feels 'horrible' to her.

Yes, you read that right.

"It’s horrible knowing that you are back in school"

In a recent interview Kajol shared that going to back to school and studying even for a role seems 'horrible' to her.

While talking about her role in a regional movie and having to learn the dialogues in that language Kajol reportedly said, "I think acting in another language has intimidated me. I did Sapney and I realized it was too much of homework. Everyday going back and studying every single night, three, four, or even five pages of dialogues was terrible. But generally, for me, I felt like I was in school studying and it’s the most horrible knowing that you are back in school.”

Kajol was referring to cramming up the dialogues, similar to how students do it for their exams and is clearly not in its favour.

However, it does not mean she takes education lightly.

The reason that the doting parents have enrolled their daughter in the prestigious United College of Southeast Asia in the Lion Country is because they are very serious about her education.

"Do not repeat the mistake which I made in my childhood"

And also because Kajol doesn't want her daughter to repeat her own mistakes.

A post shared by Ajay Devgn (@ajaydevgn) on May 30, 2017 at 8:00am PDT

In an interview Kajol shared, "I never studied whole heartedly. And after completing my school education, when I started working, I realised the importance of education. I realised what I should have done. According to me, it was my mistake."

She also added that the only piece of advice that she wanted to give her kids was to study hard and not take education lightly.

"I would like to tell my kids and other children to not repeat the mistake which I made in my childhood. So go ahead and study as much as you can. Knowledge is the only thing that nobody can take away from you," said the mum-of-two.

While the doting mum may find going back to school hard for herself, she is certainly in favour of giving her kids the best of education. Just as all regular parents are. But academic excellence can only work wonders if as parents we fulfill our responsibility and teach out kids important life lessons.

2 lessons Indian schools don't teach our kids

  • Failure is your biggest teacher: Most Indian schools work on an assembly line production concept. This means that their primary concentration is to produce kids that score the highest and in this race they often teach children that if they fail in their academics, they are a failure in life. However, this obsolete concept often leads to depression among children and one that needs to be replaced soon.
  • Life is not a race: Our schools often teach us that if we do not succeed in academics we will be left behind, while those that score a 100 percent will become successful. What they fail to teach is that life is not a race that you have to win, it's a journey that one needs to take. Alas, it's another concept lost on most Indian schools.
