Yesteryear actor and fittest grandmum in town Neetu Kapoor is known to share a warm relationship with her in-laws. Thanks to her amicable personality she believes she has been a 'good daughter-in-law.'
"I'm really lucky to be with the Kapoor family. It is a beautiful feeling. My in-laws have been wonderful and I guess I am a good daughter-in-law. My mother-in-law is more like a mother to me. In fact, she complains about her son to me. I think I have led a complete life," she admitted in an interview.
So it's not a wonder that she lends the same positive approach to newer relationships such as with her son-in-law Bharat Sahni. The Delhi-based businessman married Neetu and Rishi's daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahni in 2006.
Neetu and her son-in-law are best of friends!
And by the latest set of photographs as well as the funny banter between them, it seems that Neetu and Bharat are more friends than in-laws.
In an interview some years back Neetu explained her close relationship with son-in-law Bharat.
Talking about how she was first introduced to Bharat and how he came into their lives Neetu shared, "She (Riddhima) met Bharat Sahni, who lives in Delhi, while studying in London. They knew each other there for three years. After they came back, Chintu (Rishi Kapoor) asked her to give it another year to see if they still felt the same way. They did and now they’re getting married. The loveliest thing about Bharat is that whenever he meets me, he brings me flowers."
Neetu also believes that the reason she is so close to him is because of the similar love stories (her's and Riddhima's). "They way Riddhima and Bharat got engaged is so reminiscent of the way Rishi and I did," she shared.
"I knew Riddhima and Bharat were going around"
She also revealed the other reason she shares a warm relationship with her son-in-law and that is the fact that she knew him even before her daughter married him.
"I knew Riddhima and Bharat were going around. Although I liked Bharat very much, nothing formal was said for quite some time. We were in Delhi for another occasion when my mother-in-law spoke to Bharat’s mom Indu. Before we knew it, the engagement had been arranged. It was so impromptu, and now the marriage...," she shared.
Neetu and Bharat's sporty challenges
The heart-warming relationship of this mother and son-in-law duo is not just restricted to dinners and lunches. The two even indulge in some physical challenges.
In fact, quite recently Neetu tagged Bharat in a TRX workout challenge and he took it up and even notified his mum-in-law on Instagram.

Their relationship is certainly based on the foundation of friendship, respect and love; just as it should be. But breaking the ice with the in-laws is not an easy task.
It takes a whole lot of patience and adjustment (ask all the daughters-in-law in the country!). But if you want to know hoe you can do it too (break the ice with your in-laws), here's our lowdown.
3 ways to break the ice with the in-laws
- You have to be honest: This trait goes a long way in not only breaking the ice, but also in further cementing the relationship. Your in-laws are a part of your entire life, so it's better to be who you truly are in front of them. Be honest with your ideas and thoughts and do not lead them on into believing that you're somebody else.
- You have to be appreciative: After all your in-laws are your spouse' parents and they deserve equal respect and appreciation as your own parents. If they have done something for you, there is no harm in appreciating their effort and letting them know you acknowledge their good deed.
- You will have to adjust: Let's not deny the fact that a marriage needs a lot of work and not only between two partners, but also between two families. So either way, both parties will have to adjust for the marriage to be a success. Therefore, it's a good idea to do so and give in wherever needed.
