It was commendable to see the celeb parents host a family dinner for their son, which was attended by all the members of the Khan family

Now, this is something all parents must take note of. Despite their differences, celeb couple Malaika Arora Khan and Arbaaz Khan came together to ring in their son Arhaan's 14th birthday and made sure that Arhaan had the best birthday ever!

It was commendable to see the celeb parents host a family dinner for their son, which was attended by all the members of the Khan family including dadaji Salim Khan, Salma Khan, Helen, Sohail Khan, and Malaika's sister Amrita Arora Khan. Here's a pic from the celebration:

Malaika and Arbaaz are surely setting a precedent for couples on how to not let their differences affect their son's life. Here's another picture that was shared by Arhaan's mausi Amrita Arora on her Instagram:

While the couple had announced their separation in March this year, the couple has still not filed for a divorce yet.

Arbaaz had even confirmed the separation in an interview. "At this point of time we are not together, we are separated, and that's about it," he was quoted as saying.

The couple had later given a joint statement to DNA asking for people to respect their privacy.

“We have maintained a dignified silence till now but it is causing us too much confusion and is disturbing for our families. The truth is, we have taken a break, but that doesn’t mean people can presume, assume and speculate things of such malicious nature. We are taking out time to figure out our lives... Yes, it’s true that we are separated, but where our lives go and what transpires between us, it is for us to decide," said the statement.

However,  the couple, who were married in 1998, have allegedly decided to give their marriage a second chance due to family pressure. This is why Malaika was seen attending many important festivals and functions at the Khan household such as Eid. Here's a picture that Arpita Khan had shared on her Instagram:

Not letting your separation affect your child

Divorce can make things bitter between you and your spouse, but being a parent you should not let it affect your child. Here's how:

1. Work as one team: It's important to assure your child that no matter what happens between the two of you, you would always be one team and would always be by his side in times of need and even otherwise.

2. Never force our child to take sides: Irrespective of your relationship status, you both will still be his parents and your child would naturally love you both equally. This is why it is advisable to never force your child to take sides and drag him in the mess.

3. Never disrespect your spouse in front of your kids: Communicate effectively and be cordial to each other, no matter how bitter you are from inside. Never ever disrespect your spouse in front of your child as for him you would always be his parents. Never forget that.
