We all know that Neil Nitin Mukesh is all set to marry Rukmini Sahay next month in a lavish ceremony in Udaipur. For the uninitiated, Neil went for an arranged match and agreed to settle down with a girl of his parents choice, quite contrary to Bollywood norms.
Unlike the usual norm in tinsel town, Neil is opting for an arranged marriage and the girl has been chosen by his parents. Yes, you heard that right!
“Neil is quite old school in his ways and is a firm believer in the traditional school of thought when it comes to the sacred institution of marriage. He left the decision of finding his soulmate in his parents’ trusted hands and there couldn’t have been a better match for him than Rukmini,” said Neil’s father Nitin Mukesh in a statement.

Reports say that Rukmini Sahay(27) is from the aviation industry and her family is based in Mumbai. The wedding is slated to be a grand affair and the ceremonies would kickstart on February 7 and would last for three days, followed by a lavish reception in Mumbai.
The engagement would be held on February 7, followed by the Mehendi and sangeet on 8th. The haldi, chuda chadai and the pheras would be held on 9th.
The wedding invite is out today and has been making news because of its unique concept and design. Also because Neil's wedding invite features a few lines from his grandfather Mukesh's iconic songs. Arti Chhabria who also received the invite tweeted a few pictures of the invite and we must say that it made us go wow! Check it out!
The wedding invite has been done up by designer Ravish Kapoor and the first page has lines from his grandfather Mukesh's iconic song from the film Shor, ek pyaar ka nagma hai.
The initials NR are also embossed on the card. The following pages have made use of other beautiful lyrics of the legendary singer's songs from timeless classics such as Anand, Himalaya Ki Godh Mein and Chhalia.
Talking about the design of the card, Neil said that the family wanted the invited to be very emotional and touching.
"We wanted the invite to be very personal and hence we decided to go with a compilation of memories. Everything starts and ends with Mukesh in our upbringing and the entire conceptualization for the invite came from my father and my mother. It is like a series of love ballads springing to life and I’ve already received so many calls from well-wishers telling me how much they have loved the thought behind the invite," he told a popular entertainment portal.
We surely agree with what Neil has to say and we came to know that he is quite the family guy when he decided to get married to a girl of his parent's choice. But otherwise as well, arranged marriages prove to be successful for quite a few couples. Here are the a few reasons why:
1. Arranged marriages bring the families closer: As everything happens by the consent of both families, an arranged marriage paves way for greater bonding between families and leads to harmony at home. The whole family comes together to make the marriage work and that in itself is incredible.
2. Couples look forward to change: Since both the girl and the boy don't know each other before they actually get married, the couple gives their best shot to adapt to the changes that come with marriage without any expectations. They take to change quite easily and help each other out.
3. Greater compatibility with in-laws: As the match is decided by the parents, there is a greater chance that both the girl and the boy have a better relationship with the in-laws, which is an essential criteria for having harmony at home, especially in joint families.
