What should a responsible citizen do when he suffers due to government’s apathy? Raise his voice. This is exactly what an eight-year-old boy in Bangalore has done.

Abhinav Suresh, a Class III student from National Public School in Yeshwanthpur, has written a letter to Narendra Modi, complaining about the traffic mess that is being created due to an incomplete bridge which falls on his way to school. According to him, he ends up travelling 45 minutes every day to cover a mere distance of 3km to his school.

In his letter to the Prime Minister, Abhinav has indicated that the incomplete flyover over a railway crossing on the outer ring road, near Goraguntepalya junction, is causing huge traffic jams which is not affecting not just him but all commuters alike.

“Because of the traffic jams, people’s health will suffer and my studies are also affected,” Suresh told NDTV, adding, “I decided to write to the Prime Minister because he is an honourable man and can solve any issue.”

To the boy’s surprise, he received a reply from the prime minister’s office within two weeks of writing the letter, assuring him that appropriate action will be taken to complete the work soon. Good job, boy!
