Kareena's workout regime helps her lose weight faster and makes her face glow!
New mum Kareena has been regular with this relatively new form of yoga and even her friends are following suit and trying it out!
New mum Kareena Kapoor Khan is working hard to get back to her pre-baby body. She is often spotted attending yoga sessions near her home in Mumbai and seems to have already squeezed her tummy back in.
But it's not just her simple desi diet and yoga that's helped her in the past three months. She has in fact, added another specialised yoga regime that is known to strengthen the core and render the tummy flat.
In fact, her close friends Malaika Arora Khan and Amruta Arora Ladakh have also been inspired by this specialised form of yoga called FlyFit and are following suit.
It is a combination of anti-gravity or aerial yoga and Pilates. And Kareena has of course deployed its expert Anshuka Parwani from Bandra, Mumbai, to work with her for best results.
Talking about this specialised form of yoga, Parwani shared, "Amrita and Malaika have been training since the past few months and came via Kareena. Parineeti Chopra just started and she came with her friend, celeb stylist Sanjana Batra. I teach Ashtanga yoga-lates (a workout that combines the best stretches from yoga with the best core exercises from Pilates) and a mixture of mat Pilates and FlyFit.”
While Bebo has been training with Anshuka for a long time, her regime post delivery was of course different and shares how this type of yoga helps lose fat faster.
Parwani explains, "A FlyFit workout releases endorphins into our blood stream boosting our adrenalin and everything else, leading to the glowing complexion one sees in my clients after a class. As the yoga is done from an inverted position, the impact is internal and external for any posture."
She also adds that she instructs her clients "to work out for at least an hour and for a minimum three times a week to start with and for all other days after that."
"It aids in quick weight loss as it’s a mixture of Pilates and asanas, boosts your metabolism and yet, is a fun way of keeping fit. It’s all about using your mind and soul to enhance your body," explains Parwani. This type of exercise regime is fast catching up with celebrities who are training for core strength and fat loss.
Parwani explains that FLyFit is different from aerial silk and involves many yoga asanas.
“In my workout, I use a hammock setup, which is very different from Silk. It’s tougher to work out on. Doing a surya namaskar or shavasana on a hammock is challenging to the core and you see faster results. A lot of people even overcome their fears while practising it,” she explains.
Well, it seems that this new fad is clearly working for Kareena and many others like her who want to lose weight faster. But this is not the only regime that can do the work for you. There are a few yoga asanas you can do at home that can help you lose belly fat.
- Adho mukha shvanasana or the downward facing dog: This pose tones your upper and lower body at the same time, so you'll feel it in your hands, arms, shoulders, back, calves, hamstrings and even the arches of your feet. It also helps strengthen your core muscles and make the tummy flat.
- Virbhadrasana or the warrior pose: This particular pose is all about balance and core strength and stretches your entire body, especially your gluteal muscles, thighs and tummy.
- Setubandhasana or bridge pose: This asana works on your abdominal muscles and thereby, helps relieve pressure on your spine and hip joints. It also helps in improving digestion and helps control blood sugar levels.
