One thing that is common in pregnant women is the many cravings that they have for the different kinds of foods. And soon to be mommy Kareena Kapoor Khan is not behind and is experiencing all kinds of craving during her pregnancy.
The beautiful actress, who turns 36 today, has some weird pregnancy cravings and you'd be surprised to know what she craves for! In an FB chat for Rijuta Diwekar, the soon to-be mommy said that surprisingly she craves for karela or bitter gourd.
“I’m constantly craving a lot of karela, which is quite… very different. I really like the taste, I enjoy the taste. Everyone says add a little sugar to it and the bitterness goes, but I don’t like that. I like that it has a bitter, pungent taste to it. It’s something that I enjoy. And it’s extremely rich in iron, and it’s got so many benefits in it. I’m enjoying all the vegetables – today’s lunch was lauki mutter," she said as she answered questions by her fans during the chat session.

That's of course quite a surprising pregnancy craving as many Indian people hate karela normally and during pregnancy women just don't like eating bitter foods and vegetables. This is why many times people add pickles, sugar and other additives to mask the bitter taste. But if Kareena like to eat karela as is, then we must say it's quite amazing!
But that's not the only craving that Kareena has. She also has regular "normal" cravings like all pregnant Indian women. She's also craving for a lot of traditional Indian sweets these days, she said.

"I’m also very strangely enjoying a lot of Indian sweets more than the pastries, cakes, whipped cream. I think that I’m eating more home-based sweets, whether it’s the suji ka pedas or besan ka laddoos. I’m trying to be as good and healthy."

In the casual chat, Kareena also spoke about her pregnancy diet and other rules that she is sticking to right now. She also said that while hubby Saif thinks that she's overeating, she is definitely not going overboard with it.
“I think everybody has been thinking that I am overeating these days, which I am not. It is not important for you eat more just because you are pregnant and carrying another person inside you. Rujuta and I firmly believe that one needs to carry on doing what she has been doing before getting pregnant, just stick to your normal routine,” she said.
That's surely a good piece of advice for all expecting mothers!
