Congratulations! Kareena and Saif become parents to a healthy baby boy
Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan welcomed their first child today morning at the Breach Candy Hospital and gave him a unique name
Congratulations are in order!
Actors Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan were blessed with a baby boy today (December 20) morning.
Kareena gave birth at the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai and as per the couple's joint statement, the mother and the baby are both healthy and are doing well.
The couple who got married on October 16, 2012, had been eagerly awaiting the arrival of their baby and after an extensive media coverage of Kareena's full-term pregnancy, their wait has finally come to an end.
Speaking to Pinkvilla.com just minutes after the birth at 7:30 am, the proud father said, "Yes. We are blessed with a baby boy. My manager will release a statement soon."

And just moments later, India Today was handed over a statement by the couple that also revealed the name of the baby.
"We are very pleased to share with you all the wonderful news about the birth of our son: Taimur Ali Khan Pataudi, on the 20th of December 2016. We would like to thank the media for the understanding and support they have given us over the last 9 months, and of course especially our fans and well wishers for their continued affection. Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you all...With love, Saif & Kareena," the statement read.
Even grandfather Randhi Kapoor, while speaking to Pinkvilla said, "We are extremely excited and very happy for my daughter and my grandson and I want to thank all the well-wishers who have prayed and wished all their very best to Kareena and Saif."
The couple have chosen an interesting Arabic name for their son, which means 'Iron.' The news of this unique name was also shared by close friend Karan Johar through a tweet.

This, after media speculated that the couple will name their child Saifeena, going by the latest trend of combining the first letters of the parents' name. And Kareena had even jokingly shared that this was a name that Saif was considering and he found it to be really funny.
Kareena's delivery date prediction
Interestingly, Taimur was born on the exact date predicted by his grandfather Randhir Kapoor. While speaking to the media earlier, Kapoor had shared some candid details about Kareena's pregnancy and her delivery date.
“Kareena has handled her pregnancy very well. We’re all waiting to hold her little one in our arms. She’s extremely healthy and the baby is doing fine. Yes, she is due on December 20,” he said informing everybody about his daughter’s health as well.

Preparations at home for Taimur's arrival
Just weeks before Taimur's arrival, parents-to-be at the time, were seen out and about, shopping for his nursery. Kareena and Saif had been on their toes to make sure they have the cutest and the most amazing looking baby nursery at home.
In fact, the glowing mum-to-be Kareena Kapoor Khan was spotted at the luxury interior design AA Living’s boutique in Mumbai.
While Kareena was shopping for the baby's bed in Mumbai, Saif shopped for prams for the baby in Delhi.
Luxury stroller for baby Pataudi
The Nawab of Pataudi reportedly went to a high-end designer baby store in Delhi and purchased the Rolls Royce of baby prams. A report in DNA states that Khan bought the Peg Perego stroller with some interesting matching accessories.
True to its monicker, this stroller is as luxurious as it is comfortable and costs a whopping Rs 30,000!
While Kareena and Saif were super active and visible parents-to-be throughout the nine months, we are sure Taimur will also inherit this trait from his parents.
