We all know that Kajol Devgan has become quite a pro when it comes to using social media and posting images and snippets of her life on Instagram and Twitter.
But what her followers don't Know is that the gorgeous actress learnt the tricks of the trade from her teenage daughter Nysa, who herself is digitally quite savvy.
Yes, that's right. In fact, Kajol recently admitted in an interview that it was her daughter Nisa who pushed her to join Instagram and convinced her.

"She's (Nysa) is the one who convinced me to go on Instagram and she was like, 'You have to have social media. Media is important, you are doing films and you need it'. She actually sat down and convinced me about it. And I told her that if you want me to do it, then you have to help me out with it. She was like, 'Okay done! Will you give me an iPhone 7?', "she said in an interview to a leading daily.
The mother-daughter duo shares an incredible bond, like any maa-beti, and from her Instagram conversations we can figure out that Nysa has, in fact, imbibed the same sense of humour as her mother Kajol, who is known in Bollywood for her stupendous comic timing.
So recently Kajol posted a collage of pics and gave it an interesting caption: "When I see my babies together @nysaadevgan". She also tagged her teenage daughter along thinking that she would appreciate it.

But like any teen Nisa was embarrassed by her mother's post and posted a comment: "Mommmm, why do you have to be so extra!"

Bonding with your teens
Now that Kajol's daughter Nysa is a teen, the duo have become quite close and share quite a few things together. "We have definitely come to the sharing of clothes and make-up business. But I don't know if we have become such good friends yet!"

Being a mother to a teen can be a challenging task, but Kajol says that it is now that she can share a couple of things with her which she previously couldn't.
"When you were a teenager, I doubt you were your father's best friend. Nysa and I may not be best friends, too. I don't believe we are best friends. But what I do believe, is that today, I can talk to her about things that I could not probably earlier and she can talk to me about certain things as well which she couldn't talk about earlier. Again, she has other best friends, but I am her mum and she loves me!", she adds.
That's actually the right attitude to deal with your teenaged kids. Here are a few other tips that can help bond with your teens:
- Be their friend, not their teacher: When your kids turn teens, it would be best to befriend them and share their and your own experience with them to help them open up to you.
- Take their advice: When it comes to making important family decisions, it would be a better idea to involve your teens and also listen to their suggestions. Sometimes youngsters have better ideas than us adults and they could help us taking the right decision. Involving them would also make them feel confident and secure.
- Let them learn from their mistakes: It is difficult for a parent to let their kids make mistakes, but that is precisely what parents of teenagers must do as they would know how to deal with a situation the next time they face it.
