Mum Kajol has finally spoken about her fallout with 'once friend' Karan Johar!
“I think relationships are generally difficult"
Much has been written and said about the fallout between once 'best friends' Kajol and Karan Johar. Their 25-year-long relationship was a testimony to their close bond; especially in an industry that doesn't have many friendships to boast.
However, when it came to choosing between her friend and her husband, doting mother and wife, Kajol chose the latter and proved that marital bond is stronger than any; family always comes first!
What ruined their friendship?
What started as a professional clash between their movies Shivaay and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, escalated to a personal clash and the situation soon spiraled out of control when Johar made controversial accusations at Kajol and her her husband Ajay Devgn.
During the release of his book, An Unsuitable Boy Johar made no efforts to hide his displeasure about the Devgans and categorically stated, "I don't have a relationship with Kajol anymore. We've had a fallout. Something happened that disturbed me deeply."
He added, The problem was between her husband and me, something which only he knows about, she knows about and I know about. I want to keep it at that. I felt that if she's not going to acknowledge 25 years of friendship, if she wants to support her husband, that's her prerogative. At some outer level I understood it,"
To his surprise, Ajay Devgn came out to share his side of the truth. He told Indian Express, “I am not friends with him (Karan). Even Kajol’s equation is not as warm as it was. It is a personal issue… not due to any professional thing. It’s a personal hurtful feeling. It has nothing to do with the clash. I would not like to talk about it."
And now after much speculation, Kajol has finally spoken. Instead of jostling for news space with a spicy comment, the dignified mum-of-two chose to distance herself from this controversy, unlike her 'once BFF' Karan Johar, who seems to have milked it to promote his book as well as his film.
Kajol breaks silence on her tiff with Karan
In a recent interview she was asked about her broken friendship and she said, “I think relationships are generally difficult, nothing to do with Bollywood.” She added, “I wouldn’t like to comment anything on what happened with Karan (Johar).”
Well, it is clear that Kajol is not the one to wash dirty linen in public, nor does she believe in mud-slinging. The only thing that truly matters to her is her family and her marital bond.
With this controversy playing up like a ball of fire, she's proved that a bond of marriage is stronger than any. Perhaps, there is a lesson to learn in the way Kajol has stood by her husband, a leaf from the saath pheras.
3 ways to strengthen a marital bond
- To be together in sickness and in health: A solemn vow that all men and women take while getting married to to help and support each other "in sickness and health." It seems that Kajol is a firm believer, as everybody should be. A bond of matrimony, is not called 'holy' for no reason. The saaath pheras mean something and the most important value they teach is that of being together for each other.
- To protect each other: One of the pheras during a wedding states that the man shall man shall protect the wife, their home and their children at all cost. While the woman vows to stand by him with courage and strength. She also promises to rejoice in his love and support him, no matter what. And, it seems Kajol is standing by this holy swear as well.
- To be the best of friends: Once married, the new relationship doesn't make you any less of a friend with your partner. In fact, it further strengthens that bond and helps the two partners trust each other vehemently and fall back on each other, when required. That is precisely what Kajol and Ajay did in this situation and it seems that their matrimonial bond is strong enough to not let such controversies shake it.
