Kajol and Ajay Devgan are shifting base to Singapore because of their daughter Nysa!
Any parent would do the same for their daughter!
Actors and parents Ajay Devgn and Kajol are all set to leave Mumbai temporarily and create a home in Singapore, thanks to their 14-year-old daughter Nysa. Yes, you read that right.
The teenager has reportedly been enrolled in the prestigious United College of Southeast Asia in the Lion Country and will start school in this fall.
While the preferred location for higher education for most celebrity kids is the UK, the Devgans have chosen Singapore because of its proximity and academic excellence.
And the one to lead the pack is none other than doting mum Kajol.
A source close to the family told a leading daily, "Both Kajol and Ajay are obviously keen that their daughter get the best education. They were originally toying with the idea of sending her to a university in the UK since the Devgns have a house in London and it is their favourite holiday destination as well."
"However, they have now zeroed in on Singapore because it is closer to home and there are as many as five flights between Mumbai and Singapore every day so it sort of makes it more accessible for the family," the source added.
To start the enrollement process and to get Nysa settled is currently Kajol's job. The protective mum will fly down to Singapore in July along with her teenage daughter and finalise all the arrangements before the school begins.
"The Devgns may end up renting a place in the Lion Country for a couple of years because they would want to be closer to the institute's campus," the source shared.
With this move the Devgans join the long list of celebrity parents who have sent their kids abroad for higher education.
From Shah Rukh Khan's kids Aryan and Suhana, to Sushmita Sen's daughter Renee to Amitabh Bachchan's granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda; all of them are either studying pursuing higher education abroad.
But the fact is that not just these celebrities, a recent study proved that regular Indian parents are also extremely keen to send their kids abroad for higher education.
The study revealed that almost 88 percent of the parents interviewed were wiling to shell big bucks to send their kids abroad to pursue higher studies.
The report by the global financial services company, quoted in TOI states, "India has the world's highest proportion of parents (88 percent) who are willing to send their children abroad for higher studies, ahead of Turkey (83 percent), Malaysia and China (82 per cent each)."
The survey also reveals that Information Technology is the preferred sector. And finally it shared that Indian parents were wiling to put in more money for a foreign degree rather than spend that much for education in India.
Well, this survey certainly shed light on why many celeb parents and even regular folks love to send their kids abroad!
