Ever since John Abraham and Priya Runchal tied the knot, the reclusive couple have been shrouded by rumours of trouble in paradise.
Plus, the fact that the couple started with a long-distance marriage, and have rarely ever been photographed in the public together also didn't help their case.
However, after three years of matrimony, the couple has had it with the separation rumours.
So much so that actor John Abraham decided to finally clarify the status of his marriage and once again shocked everybody with his response.
"I'm tired of justifying things"
"I don't even feel like talking about this any longer. I mean, how long can I even continue clarifying things? Every other day, there is some rumor or the other. Let people say what they have to. I'm tired of repeating what I've already said. I'm tired of justifying things, telling people what is true and what is not," he told a daily.
This clarification comes months after Abraham poured his heart out about his beloved wife.
At the time he shared that his wife was an extremely private person and prefers to stay away from the limelight and that's why many people speculate that they are no longer together.
"She wants to stay away from the celebrity"
"Priya is a very private person and so am I. have been through my process in this industry, in life and I think the righteous way to go about a relationship in the future is by absolutely — I wouldn’t say — not commenting, but by being really private. To a large extent, I credit the media for that, by helping us maintain privacy," he stated.
Abraham also added that Priya likes to maintain secrecy and loves a simple life away from the media.
"She is such a nice person. Let’s assume that she was not my partner, and I’d still say that about her. She is like any girl out there who would want to sit in a rickshaw and go somewhere. She wants to guard that space. So she wants to stay away from the celebrity," he shared adding that this helps him work not only on his marriage but also his work.
Runchal who graduated from London School of Business post her marriage and worked as a financial analyst in the US came back to India and has been working closely with Abraham's production house as his financial analyst now.
"I see the stress that parents go through, and it’s not a joke"
While the couple have come a long way together dodging one rumour after the other confidently, there is still one thing they're unsure of and don't want to venture in at the moment; and that is- parenting.
"I really haven’t thought about children. I do believe that we are a very populated country and a populated world...We have a lot of homeless children and I believe that we need to give them homes first. That’s the only way I would really like to put it. And I am speaking in all honesty," shares the Rocky Handsome actor, adding that becoming a parent is extremely difficult.
He further adds, "I see the stress that parents go through, and it’s not a joke. Earlier, we used to say that motherhood is heroism. Today, you say getting a child into a school is heroism. The whole concept of being a parent has changed...But it’s a personal choice. In my case, I haven’t thought about children."
Abraham however, does advocate adoption.
"I just think that and I say this for all the people who are going to read that as much as we all want to have children, I think adoption should also be a very important option," adds the actor.
With that opinion Abraham joins the list of other celebrities such as Raveena Tandon as well as Sushmita Sen who not only endorse adoption but are parents to two adopted daughters.
