#iPhoneX: This is what ALL I can do with that money instead!

So before you ask me why I think it’s a waste to spend so much on a phone, I have my full list of fun things to do right here. And if you are a mommy, trust me, this is going to bring you much joy. So read on.

So it’s everywhere right now – social media, trending topic, WhatsApp jokes, memes, you name it, it’s there. The topic about iPhone X I mean.

Did I tell you it costs INR 89,000 (only). Ya right.

When I look at that figure, I am just not able to picture myself holding just a phone. I mean, why? If I am so desperate for that apple, I would rather open my fridge and get one instead, and then make better use of the remaining money (after what I spend on buying the apple first) to do a host of other things.

And yes, I absolutely love the phone I use, it’s been with me for a long time now, it’s loyal, knows all my secrets (shhh) and admit it – it’s always a task to switch to a new phone (at least for me!).

So before you ask me why I think it’s a waste to spend so much on a phone, I have my full list of fun things to do right here.

3 things (and more!) I definitely would love to do with that money!

1. Take a mini vacation – To a place where you can take the kids or maybe head out alone for some ‘me’ time. Planning a vacation means getting the tickets and the stay sorted, and it costs money. So why not splurge this time instead? Get pampered, check into a nice hotel, book yourself a heavenly spa, and let your kids enjoy in a kiddie spa (many hotels have them these days), or let them enjoy the kids activities that your hotel offers.

2. Invest – So I am not saying you can invest really big with INR 89,000 and buy yourself a home, but when it comes to saving, this is still a big amount. Most moms do not realize the importance of investing, so why not start now?

I, for one, am such a mom, who does not understand the nuances of investing. So the next thing I do after I check all your wonderful tips and comments here about the same, is to head to my bank and have a word.

3. Workout equipment or membership – We are all trying to be healthy and fit, and honestly, it can sometimes be difficult to achieve your goal by just doing free hand exercises. Why not buy a machine you will enjoy working out on, such as a treadmill, cross trainer, twister or whatever holds your fancy. You could also get a membership to a really good gym. And if you ask me the best option – get yourself a real cycle and start your journey to fitness with fun!

With the money that you have left, you can still try any or all of the following:

  • Book shopping with kids at bookstore chains or from local street shops (always more fun)
  • Discover new and interesting places to brunch with kids every weekend.
  • A surprise toy or activity for your kids.
  • Bring home a pet.
  • Invest in making a balcony garden along with the kids.
  • Enrol them in self-defense class (need of the hour!).

These were just some of the things that came to my mind with all this talk going on about the latest phone from the brand, and yes, I am waiting to hear your tips and ideas!
