Inspiring! 3 times Amitabh Bachchan showed us that daughters are specialInspiring! 3 times Amitabh Bachchan showed us that daughters are special

Over the past few months, the legendary Amitabh Bachchan has time and again proven why his words must be borrowed for inspiration

When it comes to being eloquent about the strength of a woman, nobody does it better than the legendary actor, Amitabh Bachchan. His words are often powerful and reflect the need to empower women.

In fact, over the past few months, he has time and again proven why his words must be borrowed for inspiration. He has shared several posts and write-ups about the women in his house and how he believes that every woman deserves equal respect and love, no matter the age.

Whether it was his heartfelt letter to his granddaughters or his touching post about his daughter, he makes everybody teary-eyed, simply by the power of his words. And, as we entered 2017, he continued his streak and gave us more memorable and inspirational words, empowering more women across the globe.

Here are some of his most inspirational words that prove him to be a complete gentleman and a loving father and grandfather.

#1 When he wrote a heartfelt letter to his granddaughters

The PINK star wrote a heartfelt letter to his granddaughters, Aaradhya and Navya Naveli just a few months back. In his letter, he urged his girls to follow their own heart and not worry about the society.

T 2370 - #ABletter .. my letter to my grand daughters .. so humbled to receive all your responses .. !! Thank you !! pic.twitter.com/bd3NdI7vrD

— Amitabh Bachchan (@SrBachchan) September 5, 2016

Here's an excerpt from the letter:

My very dearest Navya & Aaradhya,

You both carry a very valuable legacy on your tender shoulders – Aaradhya, the legacy of your पर दादाजी, Dr Harivansh Rai Bachchan… and Navya, the legacy of your पर दादाजी, Shri HP Nanda….

Both your पर दादाजीs gave your present surnames celebrated fame, dignity and recognition!

Both of you maybe a Nanda or a Bachchan, but you are also girls…women!

And because you are women people will force their thinking, their boundaries on you.

They will tell you how to dress, how to behave, who you can meet and where you can go.

Don’t live in the shadows of people’s judgment. Make your own choices in the light of your own wisdom.

Don’t let anyone make you believe that the length of your skirt is a measure of your character.

Don’t let anyone’s opinion of who you should be friends with, dictate who you will be friends with.

Don’t get married for any other reason other than you want to get married.

People will talk. They shall say some terrible things. But that doesn’t mean you have to listen to everyone. Never ever worry about – लोग क्या कहेंगे!

The actor, however, called this a letter for all the granddaughters of India and even dwelled on pressing issues that affect Indian girls–from gender bias to marrying for love to standing on your own feet. This is one letter that gave us goosebumps and will certainly go down in history as the one that should be read to all daughters of India.

#2 When he wrote about the best daughter

It is no secret that Amitabh Bachchan loves his daughter. In fact, he leaves no stone unturned to express his affection towards her and that in itself is refreshing to see in a country that is known to still kill its daughters.

In his recent post, Bachchan was seen cheering for his daughter as she walked the ramp for their family couturiers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. In fact, the Bachchan patriarch also shared an album of her pictures on his Facebook page posting with them a message that he was indeed “a very very proud father.”

That was not it. As the year started, he also shared a few pictures of himself sitting with his daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda at an award function and shared why daughter's are special.

He wrote that when he came back home after a few days of work, his daughter prepared a nice homely meal for the entire family and was accompanied by the grandkids.

He also wrote that their home was once again in a celebratory mood, just because everybody was together and that's what daughters do, they bring everybody together and that's why they are special.

#3 When he spoke about the strength of a woman

At a recently concluded award function in Mumbai, he was given the viewers choice award for his riveting performance in the movie PINK. Not surprisingly, he was accompanied by his wife, Jaya Bachchan and bahu Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, for whom he wrote a special dedication on his Facebook page.

In fact, the inspiring message was not only dedicated to his wife and bahu, but also to all the men and women across the country.

He wrote: “PINK mein award hamein nahin diya .. award diya hai Bharat ki har ek mahila, naari, stri ko .. nari desh ki aadhi shakti ! Unko samman karo, izzat do unhe, maan karo unka… (I have not been given an award for PINK, but it has been given to every woman of India, who is a goddess. Respect them, honour them…)”

Of course, his words were not only met with applause from his fans but tearful eyes from his bahu, Aishwarya.

With these simple words, he urged his fans to respect women, and also posted pictures of his wife and bahu, symbolising his love and respect for the two ladies in his home.

Now that's truly inspirational.
