As the year comes to end, we can only look back and reminisce some of the most iconic fashion trends that were made famous my celeb mums. They carried off chic casuals and Indian wear like it's nobody's business and managed to make the term 'yummy mummy' desirable.

Needless to say, many of these trends will continue to rule the Indian runways well into 2017 and that's why it's a good idea to some fashion inspiration from these yummy mummies.

Let's take a look at some of the most trending looks that were made famous my these celeb mums and have inspired many Indian mums.

#1 Bumpy fashion

Celebrity mums including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Carol Gracias, Shveta Salve, Genelia Deshmukh and Mira Rajput made maternity fashion cool.

They weren't doing anything extraordinary by putting their bumps on display, but were certainly wearing it like a badge of honour! And, why not! Plus, it gave us some great ideas for maternity fashion, be it in Indian wear or western.

#2 Strong saree game

The nine yard wonder made a huge comeback this year and was seen on most celeb mums who carried it off with aplomb. After all, it is a go-to when it comes to traditional events and ceremonies. But the twist this year were the accessories.

Sarees were seen with belts, body chains, stitched draping and people experimented with the blouses, which is always fun. Tale a cue from Shilpa Shetty Kundra, who tried almost all the different ways and looked gorgeous in each ensemble. This is one trend that is here to stay!

#3 Off shoulder chic

A trend that caught everybody's attention this year was the off-shoulder or the cold-shoulder trend. Yummy mummies including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to Malaika Arora Khan to Kajol, everybody tried their hands at this lovely trend.

Interestingly, an off shoulder dress can make anybody look slimmer. Plus, it also works if you are a fan of the sarees and love to experiment with the blouses. Take a cue from yummy mummy Malaika Arora Khan, who never fails to impress us with her sartorial choices.

#4 Silver jewellery comeback

The quintessential silver jewellery, which perhaps all mums own, made a comeback this year and is likely to be on the runways even next year. With mums including Karisma Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonali Bendre and Kareena Kapoor Khan sporting it, it has become fashionable as well.

Take a cue from yummy mummy Karisma Kapoor, who usually likes to keep her outfits simple and doesn't really experiment with a lot of colours. She is seen here sporting simple Amrapali silver jhumkas.

#5 While is gold

Many famous mums were seen reviving this colour and adding a dash of contrast with last year's Pantone Colour of the Year- Marsala as well as nude lips. Celeb mums including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Karisma Kapoor were seen wearing this colour on several occasions this year and needless to say looked flawless each time.

White is a universal colour that is always in trend, no matter the season or weather. You can never really go wrong with this colour, plus it can be given a dash of personality with the right accessories and makeup!

All of these trends were hot in 2016, but in all likelihood they will slide their way well into 2017 too! So add a few pieces inspired from these trends, and you are sure to be the life of any party.
