If your kids love to explore new places and have a knack for technology, there is some good news.
Technology giant Google has launched an application for kids, using which they can explore the Himalayas closely. The application has the facility of maps, 3D imagery and even gameplay.
This is to help kids feel as though they are on the mountain range.
Verne: The Himalayas
This app is called Verne: The Himalayas, with a character called Verne, who is a 500 foot, friendly Yeti! By using this application, and through Verne, kids can explore the Himalayas.
"The new app, which the company describes as 'an experiment', takes advantage of Google Maps' 3D imagery of the Himalayas but combines it with a bit of gameplay to make the idea of zooming around the 3D scene more fun and engaging," reported Tech Crunch.
How this app works
This application is designed in a way to enable your kid to climb up to the top of Mount Everest. He can then skate on icy lakes, ride a jetpack, play with and chase Yaks, or even play Himalayan instruments.
Interestingly, this is not just a gaming application. The app also shares important educational information about the Himalayas through a voice over. So your kid learns something while using this Android app.

If you are an Android user, you can download the application on your tablet or the laptop.
