Taimur has indeed taken after his good-looking parents and the little one looks like one cherubic baby with pink lips and rosy cheeks. His weight at the time of birth has been recored as 2.965 kg and the time of birth was 8:49 am, according to the picture that has been leaked on the internet, perhaps by one of their close family friend.
Needless to say, new Daddy Saif Ali Khan is on cloud nine after the birth of baby Taimur and the 46-year-0ld Bollywood actor doesn't feel that he is too old to become a father.
"I feel 40-45 is a good age. Although my father (the late Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi) wasn’t a very religious person, he wrote me a note on my 40th birthday that said, ‘The secret of Islam was revealed to the Prophet on his 40th birthday’. I think what he meant was that this is the age when you are sorted. So, it’s a great time to have a kid. I don’t feel like it’s an additional responsibility. Instead, I am like, ‘I want to [have a child],’” Saif told HT City days before he became a father again.
Saif also feels that it is indeed a wonderful experience to share life with another child. He also feels that it is a big difference when he became a father for the first time and now.
“There’s a difference (as compared to when Sara and Ibrahim were born) in the sense that I am clear [about] what my age is and what their (kids’) age is, and I am not going anywhere. Sara is so much closer to my age, while Ibrahim is a young teenager. So, now, 14 years later, it feels nice [to have a kid],” says Saif.

Saif also says that kids bring a lot of discipline and control in your life and he is looking forward to that. He also wishes to pass on his family values to his third born.
"Children also bring some discipline and control into your life. So, yes, there will be late nights, but they will be more controlled (smiles). So, I am looking forward to that (fatherhood). I want to bring up another child, and teach him things and have our thoughts [family values], hopefully, passed on through him. You always like to pass on things [to the next generation]. In the same way, what does Pataudi Palace [stand] for? It’s the continuation [of family values]. For me, life is all about a creative job, friends and hopefully family. These are important things in every possible way,” he says.
Being an avid reader, Saif also hopes to inculcate a reading habit in his child and tell them various stories ranging from the Ramayana and Mahabharata to The Odyssey.
“It would be fantastic to tell them Indian stories, such as the Ramayana, the Mahabharata; the Greek stories of Hector, The Odyssey, and Achilles, as well as teach them about poetry and art. It will be nice to have a kid who knows all that. I’m looking forward to [doing] it. But there’s no pressure [on Taimur] if he says, ‘Dad, I don’t want to know all this stuff’, and I’m sure he will say that (laughs)," he adds.
Reasons why your child should be reading more
Reading can indeed be a great hobby for your kids and the earlier your child starts reading, the better it is for him. Here are three reasons why you should encourage your child to read more:
1.Reading exposes them to a different world: The best way to develop your child's creativity and imagination would be by introducing him to characters and people who belong to a world that his way different than the one they live in. Like Saif says, stories of the Ramayana and Mahabharata introduces them to characters who have strong moral values, which can teach them a thing or two about bravery, honesty and most of all the courage to stand up.
2. Helps build their vocabulary early on: The best way to build your child's vocab would be to gradually introduce books that teach him about new words and sentences. He would slowly start using them in real life.
3. Keeps them away from screens: We can't deny that it is difficult to keep kids away from the TV and iPad screens these days. Reading would be a great hobby that would help keep them away from them, even if it is for thirty minutes.
