How to make apple and sooji kheer for your six-month-old baby

Apple and sooji kheer is an excellent combination of fats, carbohydrates, nutrients and fats that will benefit your baby's health

One of the first thing that's on your mind as a mother when your baby starts solid is what would be the best thing to feed him which is nutritious as well as tasty. Apple and sooji kheer can be that one food that fits the bill on all aspects.

Apple and sooji kheer is an excellent combination of fats, carbohydrates, nutrients and fats that will benefit your baby's health. It would also keep him full for a long time and is also easy to digest. We all know the health benefits of apples. Not only are they easy to digest, they are the best natural sources of fiber that would keep constipation away and help smoothen the digestion.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 apple
  • 1 tbsp sooji
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • A little ghee(optional)

Method:
Peel the apple and grate it. Take a pan or kadhai and put it on medium flame. Add the ghee to the pan and add the sooji to it and roast. Add a little water to it and let the sooji soften for a minute or so.

Now add the grated apple to it. you can add more water if you need and let it cook till it gets a little halwa-like consistency. Add the milk in the end and heat a little as the kheer would get thicker. Cool and give it your baby for breakfast or whenever he feels hungry and you want to make something in a jiffy.

You can also use only milk to make the kheer instead of water and leave out the ghee. Additionally, you can add elaichi to add a little flavour to it. We're sure your baby will like it.
