The happy and proud parents organised their baby's annaprashan ceremony on the day he turned five months and shared the precious memories through social media.

In the photographs the parents are seen feeling the baby his first food in silverware, as is commonly done on most North Indian states.

"I wasn't advised at all"

Incidentally, the two have clearly been quite hands on when it comes to parenting and they credit their family for letting them explore things on their own.

"Oh No No, I wasn't advised at all. My parents and I just share our experiences and there is no hard and fast rule where I have to follow advises. We are let to explore our experience," the new dad shared adding that he is now a pro at changing diapers.

So it wasn't a surprise that the two organised the annaprashan all by themselves and invited their family members and closest friends to bless their baby. After all annaprashan is an important ceremony for a newborn.

As is traditionally done in many annaprashan ceremonies, Kavish also seem to have fed soft rice with ghee for easy digestion.

And if you are planning to host one for your baby too, remember to add ghee to the first food mixture.

3 reasons you must add ghee to your baby's first solid

  • Boosts good calories and essential fats: The very first reason for adding ghee to your baby's first solids is that it has saturated fatty acids and can easily be digested. Plus, it also boosts good calories and fats needed for your baby to grow and develop over the next few months.
  • Rich source of vitamins and minerals: Since ghee is derived from milk, it is naturally a good source of calcium, vitamin A, and a minimum amount of protein. It even potentially expels carcinogens from the body.
  • It adds flavour to the food: Yes, you read that right. Most baby foods must be devoid of sugar and salt and in their absence, ghee adds flavour and is easy to eat and taste for the baby. Of course, the key is moderation no matter what you cook.
