Here's how laughter queen Bharti Singh lost 10 kilos without dieting! Here's how laughter queen Bharti Singh lost 10 kilos without dieting!

Bharti Singh jumped from a whopping 92 kilos to 82 kilos in no time. Read to know more.

Comedienne Bharti Singh has been giving us a large dose of laughter for quite a while now. Hopping from one comedy show to the other, she has become television's quintessential laughter queen.

And while she's almost always making headlines with her witty one-liners, she recently made the news for a personal achievement.

Singh's slow and steady flab to fab journey!

The Comedy Drama star managed to shed a whopping 10 kilos and went down from 92 kilos to 82 kilos in just a few weeks. And might we add, she does look fabulous!

This weight loss journey (which continues) is a big deal for the actor who was always been a chubby kid and was often ridiculed for her size, sometimes by her own mother who'd say, “You have to marry, Bharti.”

But Singh used her size to her advantage, especially on stage and on screen where she was often seen fat shaming her own self.

She told a daily that even though she used her size as a a way to make people laugh, on the inside she cursed God for making her this way.

"I used to curse God for having made me fat"

Her only issue with her size was that she couldn't fit into fancy clothes that she so loved.

“Double XXL readymade dresses hadn’t hit the market; there were no plus sizes,” she shared, adding, “I had to buy men’s T-shirts and jeans. I used to curse God for having made me fat."

But she still continued her journey because her size fetched many meaty roles on the small screen.

"When I joined TV, I started taking digs at myself; that is what people started loving me for. I realised that my fatness was actually God’s gift, and I better respect that,” shared the laughter queen.

However, all this changed in April this year when she along with her long-time beau Harsh Limbachiyaa participated in the dance reality show, Nach Baliye.

"I neither go to a gym, nor do I have a dietician"

Singh would push herself and rehearse almost six hours daily, resulting in a massive weight loss—close to about 10 kilos.

"I don’t want to become sookdi (super slim). I neither go to a gym, nor do I have a dietician,” she shared adding that she followed a simple advice from her partner Harsh.

“He told me to have green tea after every meal. People are commenting that I am losing weight,” said Singh.

She also added that she eats what she likes and never restricts herself. "I’m a Punjaban who eats parathas and omelette. I shoot till late and have dinner at 5am. I have lunch at 2pm, that’s why my health suffers sometimes,” she shared.

However, she is a stickler for home-cooked food and prefers her "daal, roti, subzi" over everything else. And now that Singh is already on a fitness journey, she plans to join the gym full-time.

Good luck, Bharti!

While Singh's work pushed her to take up an activity that is quite popular for weight loss and worked for her body; it may not be the case for all. If you are looking to massively reduce your weight, then here are three ways you can begin.

  • Opt for healthier food habits: Apart from kicking out junk food and fried small eats from your diet, make sure to incorporate healthy foods in your diet. If you are trying to lose weight decrease foods that contain carbohydrates and fats and include those that contain proteins and calcium, as well as iron so you have the energy to exercise and hit the gym.
  • Alternate between exercises: A person who has just started to exercise may easily get bored or lose interested unless you incorporate different types of exercises in your routine. So if one day you are sticking to cardio, the next day you can add yoga or pilates to your routine.
  • Be as regular as possible: It's easy to give in and give up, but it's quite difficult to keep at one thing regularly. If you are truly motivated to get healthy and reclaim your body which may have been abused due to bad eating habits and a sedentary lifestyle, there is no better time than now and no better way that to be regular.
