Must watch: Aishwarya's protective gesture deeply touches Hema Malini

Must watch: Aishwarya's protective gesture deeply touches Hema MaliniMust watch: Aishwarya's protective gesture deeply touches Hema Malini

In the video you can see Aishwarya Rai Bachchan physically managing the crowd so veteran actor Hema Malini could reach home safely

When I first interviewed Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as the global ambassador of Longines back in 2012 in Dubai, she had just become a new mum. At the time she was also facing intense backlash for her inability to shed the kilos she had put on during her pregnancy.

This frenzy led to the organisers to request the media persons to steer clear of personal questions, especially about Aaradhya.

But to our surprise, Aishwarya was extremely forthcoming and warm. She received everybody with a smile, answered all our questions (some even personal) and went out of her way to make us feel comfortable.

This quality of hers clearly hasn't changed even today.

Aishwarya is still extremely grounded and humble. And the latest person to be in complete awe of her behaviour is none other than Dream Girl Hema Malini. Yes!

"I don’t know if everyone in the industry is like her"

In a video recorded last month at the Dada Saheb Phalke Awards, which is now going viral, Aishwarya is seen protecting Malini and keeping her over-enthusiastic fans at bay.

In fact, Bachchan didn't leave till she saw Malini sit safely in her car.

Talking about this sweet gesture of Aishwarya's, the veteran star shared, "After the ceremony was over, I was waiting for a while for my car to come. I guess the driver had parked it some distance away, and it took him some time to reach me. I realised that Aishwarya was just standing there with me, refusing to leave. When I asked her, ‘Why are you still here?’ she replied, ‘Aapki gaadi aane do (Let your car come). I will leave after that.”

In the video, one can see how Aishwarya asks all her fans to give the two women some space and protects the veteran star from anybody touching her.

"It shows that there’s a lot of respect and regard for me"

This gesture touched Malini so much so that she couldn't help but shower praises on the Jazbaa star.

“Now who’d do such a thing? It shows that there’s a lot of respect and regard for me. I don’t know if everyone in the industry is like her, but there are people who, just like Aishwarya, understand and give due respect to those who are senior to them. I don’t think it’s right to say that everyone is the same,” Malini added.

Take a look at the video to see for yourself how Aishwarya crowd manages so effortlessly, all for Hema Malini.

Aishwarya's sweet gesture not only reminded me of her grounded attitude during our interview, but also highlights a crucial life lesson- humility. This one quality can change anybody's life and is an important lesson we must teach our kids.

But while it is easier said than done, there are simple ways in which you can help your kids learn this valuable lesson. Here are a few.

3 ways you can teach your kids to be humble

  • Model a lifestyle around it: As they say, lead by example, so do not underestimate the power of teaching by practicing humility yourself. Incorporate it in your lives and encourage your kids to do the same.
  • Teach them their real value: Always try to side-step arrogance by consistently reminding your kids of their value in your life and how materialistic achievements are not as important as human relationships and love.
  • Teach them to serve: You can encourage your kids to serve in an NGO, or a homeless shelter or work with animals so they understand the value of life and respect those who do not have the privileges and luxuries that your kids enjoy.
