Here are a few healthy soup recipes that you can make for your babies and they are super easy!

Breast milk is the most nutritious meal your baby can ever have for the first six months of their life. But that moment of excitement when your little one is all set to taste their first ever soup, is unbeatable.

This bowl of awesomeness can be customised as per taste and nutritional value so that the child gets a balanced meal at all times!

Here are a few healthy soup recipes that you can make for your babies and they are super easy. Try them out!

1. Tomato-Carrot-Beetroot-Apple Soup

This ruby delight contains the goodness of tomato which has antioxidants, beetroot which helps purify the blood, carrot that gives fibre for proper bowel movement and apple that contains fibre and vitamin C.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tomato
  • 1 carrot
  • ½ beetroot
  • 1 apple
  • ½ onion
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ tsp jeera powder

Procedure:

  • Boil all the ingredients together.
  • Grind the boiled vegetables and fruit in a mixture.
  • Bring this paste to another boil by adding a little water and serve.

2. Pumpkin Potato Soup

This healthy squash is disliked by many older kids, but by presenting it in the form of a soup, it not only its huge storage of Vitamin and Magnesium enriches the body, but also the flavours in the soup blends well with potato to give a fantastic taste!

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 pumpkin
  • 2 potatoes
  • 1 tsp chopped garlic
  • ½ cup milk
  • Salt to taste
  • A pinch of pepper powder

Procedure:

  • Boil the peeled pumpkin along with peeled potatoes.
  • Mixture grind the boiled vegetables together.
  • Lightly roast the finely chopped garlic in less or no oil and add the paste.
  • Add milk, water, salt and pepper powder and bring it to boil and serve.

3. Lentil- Rice Soup

This is the best way to introduce the daily staple, rice and dal to your little one!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 cup cooked yellow moong dal
  • ½ onion
  • ½ tomato
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • A few drops of lemon juice

Procedure:

  • Mixture grind the cooked rice, moong dal with onion, tomato and turmeric powder.
  • Bring this paste to a boil by adding a little water, salt and lemon juice as per taste and serve.

4. Cucumber-Bottle Gourd Soup

Cucumber is a natural coolant while Bottle Gourd is rich in Vitamins, Iron, Sodium and Potassium that balances out the electrolytes in the body.

Ingredients:

  • 3 cucumbers
  • 1 medium sized bottle gourd
  • ½ onion
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ tsp finely chopped garlic

Procedure:

  • Boil the peeled cucumbers, onion and bottle gourd.
  • Mixture grind the boiled vegetables.
  • Bring this paste to another boil by adding a little water, salt and roasted chopped garlic and serve.

 

5. Chicken Clear Soup

For those who want their kids to try out their first non-vegetarian delight, this would be the best kick-starter option.

Ingredients:

  • 300gms of chicken with bones
  • ½ small chopped onion
  • ½ tsp chopped garlic
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3-4 whole black pepper
  • A small bunch of chopped coriander for garnish
  • Salt to taste

Procedure:

  • Mix all the ingredients with 2 cups of water and pressure cook it together for 15-20 min in low flame.
  • Take the lid off, strain all the ingredients
  • Garnish with chopped coriander and serve.
