I have done more for my parents than a son: Kareena Kapoor
The real reason why Kareena Kapoor wishes to have a girl child!
Kareena Kapoor Khan is fed up of all the gossip mongering and rumours surrounding the sex of her unborn baby and it disturbs her!
Extending her support to the Global Citizen movement in India yesterday Kareena lashed out at the people who came up to her with frivolous questions regarding the gender of her child.
“Wherever I go these days there is just one question asked which I think quite intrusive but, still I am asked both me and Saif whether it is a boy or is it a girl? Have you found out? And I am like excuse me what difference does it make. I am a girl child I would love to have a girl what is the difference. Probably I have done more for my parents than a son would,” said Kareena as she interacted with the media at the event.
Kareena Kapoor is expecting her first child with husband Saif Ali Khan in December this year and ever since she made her pregnancy announcement, she has been in the news for all the bold statements and trends that she is setting as a working to-be mother. She was also applauded by one and all for walking the ramp for designer friend Sabyasachi at the Lakme Fashion Week, flaunting her baby bump on the stage with elan.
Since the beginning of her pregnancy Kareena has maintained that she would be working throughout her pregnancy and it is completely normal for her to do so. "I am pregnant, not a corpse," she had replied to the reporters who asked her this question.
At the Global citizen event Kareena also said that she was really upset at the questions an Indian woman has to face by the society whenever she gets married and plans to have a family.

“We are still in a nation where we have been asked oh you are getting married and still going to work, oh you are having a child are you still going to work. These questions upset me. When I was asked if I would like to be part of this initiative my first reaction was as an expectant mother on this journey nothing would make me happier than being part of a movement,” said Kareena.

The Global Citizen Movement Comes to India- Launches a 15-year campaign to mobilize social change in India- Announces the inaugural Global Citizen Festival India to be hosted on 19 November at the MMRDA grounds , Mumbai
Kareena further added that all those people who think that a girl child is not equal enough to a man, they must know that only a woman has been given the right to carry another life inside her and that is the biggest joy in this world.
“Not just for me or my child but for the millions of children out there. For all those people who think a girl child is considered taboo, a girl is considered not equal enough, not up to a man but you must know a woman is the only soul that has the right to carry a soul in her. That is truly something that is a joy,” she added.
Well said Kareena!
