Gauri Khan and Shah Rukh Khan are often touted as the golden couple of B-town. They have time and again attribute their 26 years of marital success to their close friendship and their love for their three children.
And while they have pretty much lived their entire adult life in the limelight, the one thing that is still very private is their behind-the-door artistic conversations.
They may not be seen together or photographed together holding hands et al, but their constant support for each other is often on display through social media.
"He’s been a great support"
And quite recently Gauri Khan bared it all and dished the context of her 'artistic conversations' with her famous husband.
In an interview to a daily Gauri was only praises for her husband.
"I must say that he’s been a great support. Shah Rukh is very talented with design and he is extremely creative. In fact, I discuss work with him off and on, and our conversations are always fruitful," she shared.
The couple who got married in 1991 after a whirlwind affair have three children between them and dote on each other, even though they may not publicly put that on display.
But as Gauri confesses, Shah has not only supported her dream of becoming an interior designer, he also shares his creative ideas with her, just as any honest husband should. But that wasn't all she revealed.
"It’s just AbRam with me"
The yummy mummy also shared that she has become quite selective with her work and is not taking extra responsibilities because of her youngest son AbRam.
“Actually, I’m selective about the projects that I take on, so there is that balance anyway. Also, Aryan and Suhana are both in boarding (schools) now and Shah Rukh is quite busy. So, it’s just AbRam (with me),” revealed Khan who recently designed a plush restaurant in Mumbai and had Shah Rukh as well as daughter Suhana in attendance for its launch.
We cannot blame her since AbRam is fairly young and certainly needs one parent (at least) to be by his side. And as the doting mum, it seems that Gauri has decided to reduce her professional workload to concentrate on her family and above all, her son.
But this phenomenon is quite common with most mums and is not really spoken or covered as it is for a celebrity. However, even if you had to take a career break to care for your kids, you should never feel guilty about it.
3 reasons you shouldn't feel guilty about being a stay-at-home mum
- You are a mum first: Yes, your career is as important as your family but remember that the only constant in your life will be your loved ones. Your career may face ups and downs, but your kids and your husband will never 'fire' you or 'ask you to submit your resignation!' Plus, by spending time with your kids, you will be able to teach them all the things you wanted and that time will never come back.
- You can always get back to work: There are many multi-national companies that are readily hiring mums who are interested to get back to work. Read this to know about some of the best companies in India that run a 'back-to-work' programme. Also, you can join a short pragramme to understand what is happening in your career and get updated with the new technologies.
- Your kids will always remember that time: The time that you spend with your children during their early years is one they will cherish forever. So never feel that you are missing out on something if you do not join your organisation immediately after giving birth or after your kid enrolls in a school.
