The demonetisation demon has claimed another life! This time of a four-year-old girl who was suffering from fever for the last couple of days.
As her father had no money for her treatment, he took the ailing four-year-old with him to the bank. But even before his turn came the little girl succumbed to her illness.
Reports say that the father Dharmendra Verma, who is a daily wage labourer, was waiting in the queue at the UP Allahabad Gramin Bank, Tindwari (Uttar Pradesh) for the last couple of days. His daughter was having high fever for the last four-five days.

On Monday, he also got his daughter along thinking that he would take her straight to the hospital after withdrawing money from the bank.
The death of the daughter has triggered a protest on the Banda-Fatehpur road and brought traffic to a halt as the protestors laid the body of the girl on the road.
The Demonesation Demon
While the Indian Prime Minister's decision to abolish 500 and 1000 rupee notes has been appreciated by many, the abrupt nature of the execution of the demonetisation rule has cost many lives across India. Just last week it was reported that a one-year-old infant died after it was denied treatment by a local doctor in Agra. In Bhopal, a State Bank of India cashier died of heart attack. Bank employees have been putting in extra hours and handling large queues
There have been other incidents as well which only show that it is the common man who is bearing the brunt. Around 33 deaths have been reported across India after the demonetisation scheme was launched. Some of these people died while standing in the long snaking queues, while others died because hospitals, pharmacy shops, and ambulances refused to accept old notes.
