Refined food such as rice, noodles, pasta and even egg has a high glycemic index. These foods cause blood sugar to rise rapidly and then lead to an instant crash of energy.

On the other hand, fiber-rich foods such as oats, yam etc. as these complex carbohydrates give your body sustained energy.

2. Dairy products

Meat and dairy products are notorious for having saturated fat that causes inflammation in the body. Remember it is not only the time to restore your body of the loss it suffered but also to nourish it for carrying out future healthy pregnancy.

It is highly recommended to have a diet rich in Omega3 fatty acids that are found in freshwater fish, beans, and lean meats.

3. Foods containing trans fats

Sometimes when you are feeling depressed it seems easier to curb your hunger pangs with easy foods such as cookies or pizzas. But remember that this is the worst nourishment that you can give to your body.

These food are rich in trans fat, a process that involves adding hydrogen to vegetable oil. So it is better to substitute these unhealthy foods with other options such as boiled sweet potato, baked green peas or popcorn.
