Her new pet "Salt Pepper" and mumma Aishwarya also joined her!

It's a well-known fact that Amitabh Bachchan meets and greets thousands of fans that gather outside his Mumbai residence Jalsa every Sunday. It's a custom that he has been following for the last thirty plus years.

But this Sunday was different for his fans as the Big B had a surprise in store for them. The legendary actor had granddaughter Aaradhya Bachchan accompanying him and we must say that the little Bachchan was more than excited to be with her dadu on this occasion, although a little reluctant initially.

Bahu Aishwarya was also with her daughter Aaradhya and so was the family's new pet, Salt Pepper.

Amitabh Bachchan shared pictures of her and wrote, "And the reluctant little one finally agrees to come out to greet the well wishers .. but is disturbed by the crowds and admits she was a little afraid to be up there .. her main attraction being her new pet the stray cat whom she has named ‘salt pepper’ .."

Big B added about Aaradhya and her pet. "She asked me to pet it and I told her I did not like cats, so she was surprised that I did not .. there is another one she said .. her sister .. the cats sister .. and wondered if I would consider liking the sister .. I said no .. I think I lost out a number of brownie points from her today," he wrote on his blog.

Not without the grandparents...

The Bachchan patriarch clearly spends a lot of time with his granddaughter and even bahu Aishwarya. It's clear from Aaradhya's reaction that grandparents are really close to a child's heart and they are really, really important in your child's life:

  • Grandparents can, in fact, play an important role in building the value system of the grandkids. Sadly, in this age of nuclear families, kids today are missing out on the values and principles that their parents received from their fathers and mothers.
  • Grandparents can be that much-needed channel that parents need to inculcate family values, beliefs, and principles in their kids. As kids really don't like listening to their parents all the time, grandparents can be useful in teaching kids simple lessons from the everyday life in a fun way.
  • Grandparents can also be the much-needed support system for working mums and parents who are too busy to spend quality time with their kids and often feel guilty about it.
  • They also help the child develop a close emotional bond with other family members and make them realize the importance of having a close-knitted family.
